Nintendo customer service is sending out responses to worried gamers to confirm to them that the ten free Gameboy Advance ambassador games are still coming this year. Nintendo has still yet to confirm an exact date for the games, but rest assured they’re coming.

I can certainly appreciate your interest in the exclusive Game Boy Advance titles that will be offered through the Ambassador Program! In answer to your question, regardless of rumors you have heard, the Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games are still scheduled to become available sometime before the end of 2011. I know you were hoping for a more definitive timeframe, but please rest assured that more details will be made available closer to when the titles are ready for release.
To be sure you are notified about the games as they are available, please be sure to download the Ambassador Certificate from the same place you downloaded your NES games. You will also need to make sure that notifications for this application are enabled. When we release the titles, any updates regarding this program will be sent via notifications for the Ambassador Certificate”

This is dead set bullshit. Nintendo are holding off until boxing day. I would put money on it. To be honest, they really didn’t need to give early adopter any free games. They showed you the system and its launch games, they told you that the eShop would be late in the game, the eShop was a new service from Nintendo, so it wouldn’t have new games right away, etc. They are giving you those games as an apology, but they didn’t have to do that. Even if they announce the release date for those, you would not have them until that day. If you’re not going to buy any more Nintendo consoles just because they haven’t given you some free games, then there’s no hope for you. And even if you do get them, I’m sure you, and other people, would complain because a game you wanted was not in there.
I got my 3DS on day one, so I’m part of the ambassador program as well. I want to play those games, but I have other games to play at the moment, so to me, it’s better to give me the games when there’s less game output. If you’re desperate to play those games, then I guess you have no other games to play, which says a lot about you since this is one of the most hectic holiday we’ve had in a whule.
Sure they didn’t have to give them to you, but it was mainly to keep the more angry fans. I mean they already had just one good first party game at the time (OoT 3D) and if they dropped the price by eighty dollars just like that, it would really anger some people. They want to keep the fans, so they treat us with twenty games.
