I reported earlier in the week that GAME was cancelling pre-orders for the limited edition version of The Last Story, but now it turns out the troubled retailer is cancelling all pre-orders of the game. Consumers who have pre-ordered the game, which is due out tomorrow, have been notified that their pre-orders have been cancelled.

What a load of bull, they obviously knew this would happen for at least a week now (seeing that games are usually delieved a few days in advance). Now many people will not be able to get the game at launch, they should be ashamed of themselves…

First off, if they know their supplies are going to be limited, they shouldn’t cancel the preorders. Period. Because the whole point of “preordering” is reserving a copy of a product so you don’t have to go and deal with the fear they’ll be sold out.
I can understand about the “limited edition,” if the publisher cancelled the title, it’s rather stupid cancelling preorders if the product’s going to be released tomorrow, but if it’s going to be cancelled then, yes, reimburse your customers.
I’ll be surprised if GAME doesn’t receive a wave of negative emails and angry customers over this. Or if this faux pas doesn’t ultimately cost them.
They aren’t in a good way and they do have to purchase those games before you pay full price……I’m expecting closed doors soon cause this isn’t a good sign.

Wow… glad I got mine from Amazon after they downgraded my Limited Edition, I really feel for the people who won’t be receiving it tomorrow.
As I have said on my Twitter I don’t see GAME surviving 2012. We are only months in and they are already having problems what with them having stock problem, store closing down along with Gameplay.co.uk shutting down next week.

GAME was my favorite game store… most depressingly, all the good shops are closing down in England :(

My brother went to midnight launches of the Harry Potter books at a store in the mall, so I don’t think it matters.
I’m in england and the mall here closes at 6PM every night depending on the day…
It could open at that time just for that… :/

Seriously though my gamestops suck. All 4 of them, and I wish they did it.
My gamestop started acting like Vultures… Trying to get me to pre-order HARD, trying to get me to upgrade my membership card… I think Gamestop is hurting also.
They’ve screwed up a couple of my preorders before. I don’t really hate them, I just find them incompetent.

Every Gamestop I’ve purchased or preordered from have been good business. Customer service was good, huge selection of games and discounts; at times I stop by during lunch break just to window shop to relieve some stress from work.
As i said… its a joke, many people just joke it.

There are 2 GAME stores in Wolverhampton ….. About 5 shops apart on the SAME STREET!!!!
One of them used to be Electronics Boutique before they bought it out.

Is it any surprise that GAME are having money trouble when they make stupid moves like this? They could save £12,000+ a year in costs a year by shutting one of those stores down.

We used to have an independent shop called “Another World” but it closed around 2009 i think.
The only other game shop i know here now is CEX.
They give good trade-in prices but only sell second-hand games & consoles, nothing new at all :(

Got mine today. Yet to play on it tho. I spoke with a salesman in Game on Tuesday and he said they were taking pre-orders in the shop but it’s £10 for each version.
