Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has revealed that he has extremely high expectations for Wii U and believes that demand for the console will be strong. Guillemot expects Nintendo to produce 5 million Wii U consoles during the first six months of the console going on sale.
“Generally, that’s what (Nintendo) does. The number can be more, it can be less… they are always limited in the number that they can build.”
“It’s easier at the beginning of the console cycle to astonish people and bring them new experiences than at the end of the cycle. So the risk that is seen as a big risk by many is actually the contrary.”
If it will have good games,online and graphics, then sure why not?

The way I see it, Nintendo still owns the gaming world. The Wii (although it’s on life support [like the PS Titanic] at the moment) had sold 96 million units. However, the Nintendo 3DS have been a top seller worldwide as their sales of the portable unit went up 89% That reliable source is from VGChartz.com .

If it is indeed 5 mil as an initial shipment, then at least everyone who expects to get it on day one will be able to do so. That’s good news indeed, the Wii shipped with a little over 3 mil units, and because of that there was a lot of shortage, I was one of the lucky ones who was able to get one on day 1, but I remember there were still many people who lined up who left that day without one.

Actually Assassin’s Creed III was confirmed by Ubisoft to run a 60fps and at 1080p. Nintendo only said their titles would be in 720p for now
Yeah that could be possible. I’m not sure about that title specifically, but displaying at 1080p and running at a smooth 60fps becomes much easier when the game isn’t as demanding. But I was speaking generally. On the whole, most current generation games do not display at 1080p or run at 60fps.
oh and I just did some research and saw assassin’s creed brotherhood on the 360 and ps3 running at 30fps. not sure about the resolution.

This is actually strange, because Nintendo themselves made a projection of 10 million consoles sales (in their latest financial briefing) between Wii U and Wii, from the Wii U release through the end of the fiscal year (March 31, 2013). Wii will sell marginally, and Wii U will be responsible for the majority of those sales. Nintendo has high expectations for Wii U that don’t seem to be reflected by its initial biggest supporter, Ubisoft. If Wii U were to sell 5 million in the first 6 months, that would mean Wii would also have to sell 5 million to meet Nintendo’s own sales projections. We’ll have to wait to see if Wii U can command that level of desirability.
The Wii U will be a mega huge seller worldwide.
