More Sonic Lost World Details Emerge

sonic lost world box artNintendo and SEGA has announced today the ‘Rise of the Deadly Six’ after a silhouette image was teased to fans last week for Sonic Lost World. We saw a few clips of the Deadly Six in the latest Sonic trailer, but this time we’ve got new details of what to expect from these menacing creatures pictured above.

Known collectively as the Deadly Six, Dr. Eggman has recruited each of the fell creatures to make Sonic’s life miserable, but when the Deadly Six turn against their master, Sonic must join forces with his arch-nemesis to prevent the fall of the world. With his new moves to jump from platform to platform without losing speed, as well as his improved Colour powers, Sonic must defeat the Deadly Six through ever-changing landscapes.

In addition to single player mode, both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions will feature multiplayer modes and utilise the unique aspects of each of the consoles capabilities. Colour Powers on the Wii U are controlled through the console’s GamePad by tilting, touching and aiming in different directions, plus Sonic Lost World can be played entirely through the GamePad screen with two player support mode. But if you’re looking to purchase the 3DS version then you can look forward to fully realised 3D levels, exclusive special stages and unique colour powers. What are your reactions to the Deadly Six? Let us know in the comments below.

      1. Really? Weather you like them or not “generic” isn’t the word to describe the deadly six. The green and purple one to an extent look like the witches from paper Mario: the thousand year door.

      2. Jesus christ, if you were serious, you have no taste in creature design. I have a little bit more faith in humanity though…

      3. I’d say it’s quite the opposite. We have never seen enemies in a Sonic game like this before. They could have ended up like Shadow and Silver, and just have the same Sonic-like body type with different super powers. That would be generic.

  1. Ahh good ole Sonic the Hedgehog. I guess no Chao garden but oh well. i hope the Wii U and 3DS connect to each other somehow for enhanced gameplay. I’m looking foward to this.

  2. Do not like the sound of tilting and aiming the gamepad.

I know thats one of the big things it can do, and it’s been used for a few games as a “Scanner”. It works well enough, but sometimes its just a bit annoying.

      1. I don’t have one though.

I’m quite happy to use the gamepad. I like the second screen. Off tv play is quite possibly the best thing thats happened to gaming since the analog stick. And I don’t mind the game using both screens simultaneously or having touch inputs. But holding the gamepad up and ‘scanning’ around the room gets old pretty fast. As would tilting the gamepad to tilt the level.

      2. Actually they let you use just the Wiimote and Nunchuk, and considering that Sega’s been so retro-friendly since Unleashed (GC controller), I’m completely sure you can use the Pro Controller.

  3. They’re going for a minimalist style with the game using basic pattersn from the original Sonic games , which has me excited!

    1. Great observation Nintedward. It feels like the 90s but with Miyamoto advising the other greats on what makes gaming great.

    2. Sonics creator, one half of the two actually officially works for Nintendo. This is a coming together of friends and true gaming. Sony and Microsoft, Sonic being an exclusive on Nintendo consoles does you guys no favors. Sonic is a world wide recognized gaming character. As days progress, and trailers are released, more SEGA fanboys will here of this. Nintendo showing SEGA love makes them re-live bygone glory days, that are now anew. They shall tell their children about the Rivary and the beauty of the blue BLUR. Now Running on a 3 Dynamic Core, GPGPU Direct X11 mechanics, 1080P, Zelda HD dugeouns the Size of Hyrule field beast of a machine. Did I state everything or should i continue?

      1. Sonic isn’t as huge as you think it is, and it’s only staying exclusive for like 3 games, all of which are being released in like 1 to 2 years?

Nothing to see here folks, just MyNintendoNews commenters blowing everything out of proportion again.

        1. yes it was. Dr. Eggman’s name is doctor Robotnik, sonic just calls him Eggman as an insult and because that’s just what he looks like.

          1. Actually, his name was Robotnik in America. It was always Eggman in Japan. They decided to fix it back to just “Eggman”, but people didn’t like it, so now he’s “Dr Ivo Robotnik a.k.a Eggman”

      1. What’s the point? Eggman is the nickname everybody calls him by, and his original name in Japan. Ivo Robotnik is still his name, but nobody besides himself (rarely) refers to him by his last name.

  4. What kind of multiplayer is it? Is it co-op mode with sonic and Eggman or like sonic colors

  5. wait wait Wisps are coming back too????? This game went from amazing to perfect. I am so stoked.

  6. all i want know will this be competing with the new 3d mario because if it releases around the same time sonic will be crushed and drowned

      1. You must be out of your mind if you think Sonic in whatever genre can compete with mario. Case in point, sonic 1 on the mega drive was competing with Super mario bros 3.

        1. Nintendo Commander

To be fair, I enjoyed Sonic The Hedgehog 2-3 a bit more than the Super Mario World games…

As I was not entirely dedicated to Nintendo or Sega during the Great War…

          1. Nintendo Commander I have a Genesis. Plus I have sonic 1,2 and three. They all Still work. I also have the original Super Nintendo Entertainment System, plus super Mario world still working. To xbots and sonyan drones, these machines never RROD’d or GLOD’d ( green light of death ).

      2. I really like sonic by the way. So don’t get hurt. Him running around and spinning on a nintendo console has always been my dream.

    1. Please, both of them will do fine. Still, I would love to see them both together in a platforming game.

  7. This is awesome, I like the cover and think parkor really works for sonic. Can’t wait for this to come out

  8. Great cover! Nice and bright plus it just looks really appealing. It’ll stand out in gamestores, that’s for sure. I am glad about multiplayer, but I hope it’s a really good one. Sonic Colors 2 player mode wasn’t exactly great. I’m hoping for a classic Sonic Adventure 2 Battle/Sonic 2006 type of multiplayer

  9. Nintendo Commander

    Sonic and Eggman working together…

It’s almost as bad as if we worked together with the Xbots, “almost”…

    1. Nintendo commander, the shoty circuit maximus microsoft had last week in the Xbox Done reveal reverted them back to common sense. They abandoned xbox, at the least the 875 % in the UK for Nintendo. Thus the mist of darkness confusion gates had on them lifted and now they start as grounds keepers for our Mushroon universe, our Padwan converts shall be the sonyans. They are in for a suprise when they get the whole revelations of the PS 4 this E3.

  11. I love the Deadly Six for the fact they aren’t some boring fan characters. I was expecting some sort of “Animal head on jelly bean body with lanky limbs”. But these guys are cleverly designed for a Sonic game. Reminds me of Rayman Origins/Legends too.

    1. They don’t look cleverly designed at all to me, they just look like your average cartoon villains.

  12. Sega needs to make a big boy Sonic. I mean really c’mon… I was looking forward to a new Sonic game but it looks to kiddy. I want a sonic where I feel like all hope is lost. Where its less colorful and upbeat. Fading black and white levels would give Sonic some maturity. I wanna be scared not thrown up on by cute animals and bursting colors.

    1. This is 1991’s sonic one-esque, it is but the beginning. There shall be sequels and there shall be other placements ala mario 64 style re-invention.

    2. Go play Shadow and 06. You don’t want a Sonic game. You want some boring-ass cliche game that has Sonic’s face plastered all over it. Sonic is meant to be colorful and fun. Not dark and edgy. And Sonic’s gonna stay a jokey bastard. Again, if you want a grown up boring Sonic with no personality, go play 06.

    3. If you’re looking for some mature Sonic games then don’t play Sonic at all. Sonic started out “kiddy” and should continue to be “kiddy.” Look at the more mature Sonic games. They were crap except for Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. But all the less mature ones were great games and had a lot of humor.

    4. I agree with you to an extent. I looked at the trailer and thought it was a bit to cutesy and colorful. Tone it down a bit but nowhere near as much as you want.

  13. I like the new Deadly Six, which is something I thought would be a bit stupid (SEGA has the tedency of creating useless characters on Sonic games, I mean who even likes Silver?). They also seem to be very different, personality speaking.

The yellow one seems to be the retarded, comic relief enemy. The red is the “boss” and will always be serious and badass. The pink one looks a bit insane too XD

    1. Seems they’re all goth demons. I also bet Eggman will be hatching a secret plan during all the whatever-is-happening.

  15. Is it me or does the Wii U have some of the most colourful cover art ever? I mean, there’s this, NSMB U, Luigi U, Pikmin 3… Really nice cover art. I for one can’t wait to see the Wind Waker HD cover art.

  17. Did they just spoil the plot twist in the description?

”Dr. Eggman has recruited each of the fell creatures to make Sonic’s life miserable, but when the Deadly Six turn against their master, Sonic must join forces with his arch-nemesis to prevent the fall of the world”
