Here’s The Lovely High Quality Zelda Wind Waker HD Japanese Box-Art

zelda_wind_waker_hd_japanese_box_art

Nintendo Japan has released the Japanese box-art for the critically acclaimed remake of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker for Wii U. We’ve yet to see what the North American and European box-art of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD look like, hopefully it will be something similar. The classic game is out in Japan on September 26th.

Thanks, Kyle

  1. It’s absolutely gorgeous, however since it’s basically a “HD” version of the old Japanese WW boxart, this makes me think we’ll just get a “HD” version of the old Western WW boxart, which would be nowhere near as nice :( This is stunning.

    1. Here here! *tries to put my bank card on the NFC reader on the gamepad* Just… Scan…. It…. Gawww!!
      Nintendo, my NFC is not working!! ;.;

  2. It’s definitely very detailed and colorful, but it’s so cluttered and generic to me. I honestly much prefer the dynamic monochromatic simplicity of the old Western box art. It was like a sepia-tone photograph of Link’s spirit of adventure captured in-the-moment.

    1. your right, its the walkthrough cover in HD. (nerd talking in me, just ignore this part if you want) I still got a bone to pick with them on the map on earth temple where you see a row of coffins and it leads you to the dead end with a redead…that needs fixing. It’s a zigzag pattern, not a round pattern.

    1. Yeah, but nothing screams “I’m special” like the golden color. Or so I think. Even if they do it like they did before, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Now if they did that gold coloring to the bundle pack, I’d feel like I got one of the rareest wii u’s ever, or at least the triforce on it.

  4. This box art looks really good but, the US box art usually sucks in comparison to the Japanese art. And you know it’s true.

  6. Well, I’m picking this up at day one. Although I didn’t enjoy Wind Waker at all when I played it for the first time, I’ll give it a second try.

    1. Good thinking, I think the game takes a while to get into. Mostly because you have no idea where you’re going until you’ve had the fish paint your map. And a lot of the game is just well, sailing the sea. Collecting stuff along the way. At least you can take your time, unlike Majora’s mask…

      1. My memories keep telling me that sailing was indeed boring in WW… I don’t have high hopes it changed in this HD version, but I did change. Maybe this time I can find some joy and fun playing it.

        I hope you’re right, and after a while I can get inside it.

  7. now this looks sexy, is it just me, or does the blue case compliment the art cover more than when it was a white case? it might just be me.

    1. Never mind, just did some research (like I should have done in the first place) and I read that both of these have been unannounced. Hopefully it’ll be $40 if I ever want to dream about affording it…
