After many successful weeks within the UK charts, Nintendo is beginning to lose its firm grip. This week, Nintendo’s life simulation game Animal Crossing: New Leaf is the only title in the company’s line-up to grace the top 10 within the all formats at number 5. The bell looting game is sandwiched in between FIFA 13 and PlayStation 3 game The Last of Us.
The individual formats aren’t showing significant changes either, though Animal Crossing does move into third place with Luigi’s Mansion 2 and Mario and Luigi: Dream Team Bros. in 10th and 11th, respectively. Wii U title Pikmin 3 sees a significant slide down into 30th position from 11th, and in the all formats chart crawls just inside the top 40 at number 37. You can check out the all formats top 10 below, or in full here, as well as the individual chart here.
1. Payday 2
2. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition
3. Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2
4. FIFA 13
5. Animal Crossing: New Leaf
6. The Last Of Us
7. The Smurfs 2
8. LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
9. Tomb Raider
10. Grand Theft Auto IV
I still want this game
I cant believe this is still selling. Animal Crossing is amazing.
I can’t believe that any FIFA game is in ANY top ten list. Not to mention, The Smurfs 2? Judging by that casual Smurfs dancing game on the Wii, that’s surprising.
I’m buying Animal Crossing: New Leaf next month. I’ve put it off long enough, and I’m finally gonna be able to see if it’s really as good as everyone says it is. And find out just how different it is compared to past Animal Crossing games.
Better the Smurfs than Fifa…
True. I love The Smurfs.
I used to watch the cartoons along time ago…
But these last movies, no thank you…
I might give it another try.
Don’t they get ever get bored of FIFA?! Disgusting.
Mynintendonews reporting is very sketchy at times. When I read slid off, I was expecting new leaf ( animal crossing ) to be either 8, 9 or 10th. No that title is number 5 and still draining British parents, adults and children of that valuable pound a two pence. Nintendo has made so much money off this one game the WiiU can take a break until march next year lol.
I’ll never understand why the British/English loves soccer so much (or football, as they call it).
I noticed today that Animal Crossing New Leaf is down to £25 at Amazon now http://www.smartpound.com/story.php?title=animal-crossing-new-leaf-on-nintendo-3ds-%C2%A325-delivered-amazon
