Ubisoft’s JRPG Child Of Light Announced For Wii U

The absolutely gorgeous UbiArt-based project Child of Light has been officially confirmed for Wii U. Ubisoft published the above trailer today, showing off the stunning artwork for the fantasy side-scroller, as well as a look at the in-game battles and a great dragon emerging from the depths of a dark cave.

Child of Light is focussed on the female protagonist Aurora and her coming-of-age story, where gameplay is inspired from titles such as Limbo and Final Fantasy VI. The game itself is based on a fairytale Japanese RPG and will have a turn-based combat system. By all accounts, this is one of Ubisoft’s smallest projects, uses the UbiArt Framework which was used in Rayman Legends and Origins, and a third of the developer team was female. Child of Light will be available for purchase on the Wii U  eShop in the near future. Let us know what you think of the trailer in the comments below.

  1. Could that blue light thingy be something like murphy?
Anyway, the game certainly looks interesting, but I dont really trust Ubisoft to get a platforming RPG right, so…..I’ll wait for the reviews and gamplay footage when the game’s finished.

  2. Except it’s Ubi. They’ll retract support and then give it back 12 times, then delay it for 2 years, then cancel the project

  3. Why can’t they release Assassins Creed: Liberation HD for Wii U too when they release 3 and 4. Just the usual suspects getting it

  4. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY PPL ACTUALLY LIKE THESE KINDA GAMES. ITS NOT FUN ITS BORING.
I LIKE TO FIGHT IN REAL TIME. I LIKE TO ACTUALLY HAVE SOME COMBAT. NOT JUST CHOOSE MAGIC AND SHIT.

  5. what the heck, why cant I see my comment I made yesterday, did it get deleted, I didnt even say anything bad. -_-
