Acclaimed development studio Monolith Soft reportedly worked on The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds for the Nintendo 3DS. I’m sure most of you are already aware of Monolith Soft who developed the incredible Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii. The team also previously helped out on Animal Crossing: New Leaf and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Monolith are currently working on X for Wii U and an untitled Nintendo 3DS game.
Thanks, Benjamin

Nintendo, stop it! D: Let them focus on X because THAT’s going to be the best Wii U game so far in my opinion :/
Its just side project. Retro and other studios do it all the time
What i hope is that before X, Super Mario 3d World will save the WiiU
Monolith SOft is so fucking busy, they also worked on Animal Crossing New Leaf oh and Skyward Sword while developing X.
X will be marvellous, as will their 3DS game.
Man, when they are done, Nintendo better have them focus on something they wanna do because they love helping Nintendo
Wait are they first or second party for Nintendo?
Second they bought it from Namco.
If they bought it then it’s first party…
Not true. First party means Nintendo themselves are making games. Retro and Monolith are second parties.
If Nintendo bought Monolith, then Monolith is “Nintendo themselves.”
Monolith and Retro are first-party studios.
Second-party is when a non-Nintendo studio makes a game which Nintendo publishes.
Nintendo owns Monolith Soft, so they are first party.
They would be second party if they only were partly owned by Nintendo (like with Rare during the SNES/N64 era, Nintendo owned them 49%).
Nintendo doesn’t need to own share in a studio to have second-party games. All they need to do is publish the game. (See W101 and Bayonetta 2)
Nintendo funding the game makes the game second-party yes, but that doesn’t make the developer itself second-party.
oh wow, Namco ownd them? cool
Monolith Soft is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nintendo, so they are first party.
I agree with most of the sentiments here, though, I wish they would focus on X. I love mecha games, and since Bandai won’t release a Gundam game here, it will be the next best thing. Seriously, can’t wait.
lol we can take what we can guess
Have they shown any news regarding their 3DS game they’re working on?
Only this http://mynintendonews.com/2013/02/04/monolith-soft-may-have-shared-concept-art-for-its-upcoming-nintendo-3ds-game/
Stop working on rehash shit and finish X please
You are a rehash…
Exposed…
If you call this game a rehash then all of you Xbots and Sonyans only play rehashes every damn year with your Killzones 5000 and Halos 890…
Zelda a rehash? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkodTydUR0E
Monolith Soft = the new Rare?
I think maybe. RIP Rare, they can’t be “replaced,” but Monolith has really got my attention.
Retro Studios could also be a contender. Most of Rare’s best staff (such as the legendary composer Grant Kirkhope) left the company when Microsoft bought them and have now joined Retro instead.
Also, they just so happen to be making Donkey Kong Country games, which used to be done by Rare.
Retro will always be the new Rare.
As
I Hope someday they can make an Adventure game just like zelda. I suck at RPG i tried them but its impossible to me to get into. I played Xenoblades for like 15 hours, beautiful world, story, cools characteres and side quests but I was at this point when i couldt beat some ramdon boss because i didnt know what to do. :( sadly because the game its amazing.
Anyways my point its that i would love something like Xeno but with gameplay and combat system ala Legend of Zelda.
the only tjing i didnt like about xeoblade is the voice acting
I’m in the same boat. I totally see the charm with Xenoblade Chronicles, but I can’t stand RPGs. They can be some fun, but I never have any idea what to do.
Then, I’d rather liked them to work on the next Zelda; make a challenging and innovative HD experience’
These guys are becoming the all-stars lol. I’m only hearing good things about them. They’ve worked on most recent two Zelda titles, so hopefully they are at work on the Wii U Zelda.
That being said, Skyward Sword was – gameplay wise – an absolute mess.
Saying it was an absolute mess is way too harsh. You need to try harder
Skyward Sword was an AMAZING game and I pity anyone who didn’t enjoy it. Your lives must be so empty and joyless.
Not trying at all, just speaking on behalf of trying to play the game again earlier today.
For a start, the game’s motion controls are absolutely miles off; try to point to the edge of the screen and you’ll almost be facing away from the TV, with no option to up the sensitivity. Wish to get anywhere in the game and you’ll be bogged down with a million useless, unskippable and overly slow conversations. Fi is patronizing and uninteresting. The combat could would, assuming it has allocated a button for the player to show they were attacking – but as is just swings any which way you may possibly remotely move the remote. The world its self is either bland and uninteresting (the sky) or an overgrown corridor (the surface)…
Have you ever tried to recenter your cursor?
Yep. Turns out I was just too close to the sensor bar. I moved further back when I went back to the game and it was fine.
Except from Fi, the game was great. I can’t understand why people didn’t like motion controlls, they were fantastic! You must have been playing it wrong if they didn’t work for you.
You havent played the game. I liked it, but I respect your opinion.
As much as I would love Monolith Studio to focus on their own studio’s games, I think we’re missing a bigger picture – how did Monolith help out Nintendo R&D? I don’t mean something like “they did the graphics” or “they implemented some gameplay” but rather, did they lend over some employees to teach the others, or did they hire a additional employees of their own to lend over?
Or just straight out lending over some employees, whether or not they were already preoccupied.
fuck yeah. any game ms works on is bound to be good. can’t wait for x. now there’s a game gamers want.
Just got xenoblade for 30$ :] loving it. Now no one can tell i’ve never played it and say i’m getting X because of the hype
I’d love to see them create a full zelda game
So basically Monolith Soft was purchased so Aonuma can sleep little bit more LOL. Just jokin and yes it was terrible joke.
LoL MonoPolySoft Worked on shitty games?Lmao
Your grammatical errors and continued digital laughter expose you as being nothing more than a bully, simply looking for shit to fill that emptiness you have inside. Go play a fun video game until your episode passes, and save the rest of us from your embarrassment

I hope Monolith Soft becomes part of Nintendo.
They’ve BEEN a part of Nintendo for ages now.
They’re a first party studio of Nintendo.
I knew there was a reason I loved this entry more than usual.
Now I know why….
