    1. Yes it was, looks like Nintendo looks like they’ve just left the Wii U. Guess what, maybe I’ll have to sell my Wii U and buy a PS4 :(

      1. Seriously? Mario Kart 8 and Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze aren’t enough for the next 3 months? Plus all the new eShop titles, and Bayonetta 2 this year and Smash Bros. too, I guess “X” is a huge game so it won’t come until 2015. And they are saving the big final December games for E3.

        1. They said it was a Spring direct.. So I’m pretty sure that means all the games shown are coming out in the next 5 months.

(Barring Smash Bros of course, because they always show that game in every direct).

        2. I’ve been hearing this story since last e3, when they announced absolutely no games (by announce I mean games that weren’t mentioned before) and showed almost no third party support. About DK, I’m just a bit tired of platformers (2 mario games in the last 2 years and Rayman Legends, as well as other eshop titles). X and Bayonetta look amazing though, but they just keep telling us such games will be avaible in 2014, meaning they will release in second half of the year, just like 2013. Plus, the delay of Watch Dogs and almost no games using the second screen experience make me think if I did right when I got my Wii U at launch. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Wii U and the GamePad, but I want games that justifies the second screen, not only that, but I needa wide variety of games. C’mon, I can’t even play a decent soccer game … :(

    2. It was bad, but it was only about games that would be releasing soon. So no surprises. And how dare they ask 15 for nes remix 2..way overpriced

    1. I doubt they’ll add Mario&Luigi Characters. Even though they should.
That series has a bunch of awesome characters that I’d like to see in plenty of standard mario games

  1. Can’t wait for MK8, but including all the Koopalings instead of one or two gives me this “meh” feeling, but I’ll take them over Honey Queen.

  2. With this Nintendo Direct I see a bright future for the WiiU! X is the RPG OTY, c’mon trolls, face your fate! NINTENDO FOREVER!

    1. Now it wasn’t. 7.5/10 A few release dates would have been nice. Like X and Bayonetta 2, at least a launch month…but it was a good solid Direct. Not as good as last years January Direct though.

  3. I love how people always come to these with insane expectations(even funnier that they even said it will not include anything majorly new), you really think they’re gonna show off metroid or zelda in a direct rather then save it for e3 where it’d get tons more coverage and hype, these really are just a nice way of getting out trailers. even so I do think they should split the 3ds and wii u into two seperate streams.

  4. Nintendo fooked up again big time!!!
They focused more on the 3DS than the Wii U like WTF?
3DS is NOT struggling and has no competition.Wii U is really struggling so Nintendo do a direct that is main focused on its handheld?
Nintendo really do not have a clue, just proves that Nintendo really do care more about 3DS owners than Wii U just like last year!!

    1. IS was like 60% 3DS, and 40% Wii U. That’s fine. 3DS has more games in the pipe line coming out till E3. Pay attention to what they say they will talk about. Don’t be an idiot and think something HUGE like Zelda HD will be shown at it.

  5. Nintendo must be wanting to give the impression that they’re giving up on Wii U. I mean NO new Wii U games… Come on. If E3 comes and we just get Smash news and Zelda HD trailer and maybe perhaps another game or two, will it matter? Think about it, Zelda HD won’t come out for at least another 2 year and a half (Christmas 2015 at the earliest). Think about it, which Zelda have you ever seen come out the same year it was revealed? Also, I think Smash Bros. will be this Christmas season’s big title from Nintendo as far as Wii U goes. I figure we’ll also get that Yoshi game or maybe another Nintendo first party title, but I doubt anything game of the year caliber except Smash Bros. Also, Nintendo is just taking way too long to pump out good games. 3rd party support is all but dead on Wii U, so you would think Nintendo would be pumping out games left and right to change that… instead we are given till the eend of May to wait for one of the big games. I think there are 3 games that had(ve) the chance to turn it all around for Wii U… And 1 has already failed. Now Mario Kart 8 and Smash is all that remains. If they dont help Wii U… Consider it the next Dreamcast. There’s no chance anything could save it if they dont, and I dont care if u argue with that or not, its true.

  6. OK we are in mid-feb and we were promised not lack of software. well can anyone remind me what game did we have for January and February and what we are supposed to have in March and April 2014. cause so far I don’t think we had a software release during Jan-April and just before anyone can give me an answer don’t be EU/US/JP centric. let’s talk about worldwide release. can’t wait to have Mario kart 8 but don’t have much hope for 2014 now. it all seems bad news
