Super Mario 64 Fan Remake Using The Blender Game Engine

YouTube user Aryoksini has been hard at work recreating the iconic Super Mario 64 using the Blender game engine. Mario’s character model is based upon the design seen in Super Smash Bros Brawl. Aryoksini says he is a big fan of Super Mario 64 and cites this as the reason why he took on such a big project. Aryoksini plans to include a number of Mario’s signature moves including his punch, crawl and ground pound.

    1. Because if they did fans would just tell them to stop rehashing and redoing the same old games and make new ones

          1. So does Nintendo, like wind waker, latest mario games, etc. What about victual console games too. I bet you’re one of those bad example who repeatedly buying these games!

        1. I’ve been hearing this a lot, but so far Nintendo’s only been remaking a handful of games. Okay, so we got Super Mario All-Stars (re-released for Wii), Metroid: Zero Mission, the ports for handhelds (some with extra features and annoying voices), Wind Waker HD, the Kirby games compilation, Metroid Prime Trilogy, some Wii ports of GameCube games with added motion controls, Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, Link’s Awakening DX, The Legend of Zelda: Collector’s Edition, Ocarina of Time Master Quest, Ocarina of Time 3D,… okay, maybe I’m just embarrassing myself at this point, but a lot of these are spread out, not released in close proximity. Is it really fair to say that they’ve only been doing remakes and rehashes though? If you’re sick of Mario, Link, and Pokemon like I am, just say so. I’d like to see more F-Zero (with the option to not use motion controls), Metroid (or maybe just other games starring Samus; it doesn’t always have to be about metroids), and some new female protagonists that could give Lara Croft a run for her money (it sucks that the newest Tomb Raider wasn’t ported to Wii U despite its potential on that system).
Should the Virtual Console releases even count?

      1. Yes, because that has stopped them with Zelda OOT, Windwaker, NSMB and so on. It’s not because they don’t want to make remakes, it’s because they want easy remakes, in order for them to be profitable. Sucks for us, but business-wise, I can’t blame them.

        1. it remains my favorite game of all time … i’m not even joking.

it’s also shocking that most stores here (canada) still sell this game … i think it’s very old now too … longest game to ever remain on store shelves? … longest console game maybe.

    2. They can but they’d rather spend their resources on new projects. There has been fat too many remakes these past few years although most were on the ps3. That being said Mario 64 is the greatest game of all time and should have a remake every new console and handheld release. At the very least lets hope the next Mario game is like this and not like galaxy or 3D World.

          1. LOL, saying there’s a lot wrong with him XD My sides.
Super Mario 64 is one of my favorites as well, but they didn’t ruin it in Sunshine all of a sudden, that’s a very solid game too.

    3. They can but whats the point? The levels are so short and wasting time from scratch wouldnt make sense in there current state with the wii u. If it were sunshine i can see them doing that by just touching up the game from the cube version

  1. Mario looks like plastic/rubber colours are ugly too. Hope the camera gets fixed too lmfao! Also there’s already a sunshine remake in HD Google it. I wouldn’t buy this game anyways.

    1. …………………………………………………………….. I don’t know how to answer a stupid comment

    2. The Stupidity levels in your comment is amazing.
      1. This a is a FREE downloadable game
      2. The game isn’t finalized
      3. That’s an emulated version of Sunshine

Go home Mr Bean… You’re drunk

      1. ^This

Why can’t you be happy that somebody try’s doing this in his spare time? Its a demo and will be improved (if he doesn’t read your discouraging, stupid comments). He’s not even “hurting” anyone with this, so why try to harm him? I don’t get why some people on the internet always have to complain about anything! You must have a bad life, pathetic trolls…

    1. why? its a fan made project its free to play so its not like he is making money off of it its like asking to get rid of super smash flash 2 which has been in development for years and is fan made and free to play

  2. What is this, Nintendo Life? People call us ‘Nintendodrones’ for a reason. You people should be in shame for hating this guy, because your stupid pride!

  3. 90’s Nintendo will always be better.
Mario 64 is better looking than any new Super Mario game.
Mario use to look cool. Not so obviously aimed at toddlers.
“Wall kick will work” it was challenging. There were elements of creepiness. Like the Thwomps mean face and the fiery painting you jumped through.
Now the Bosses all look adorable like Plessy … The textures looked more tone down and as if they could continue they would strive to continue to look more realistic but instead they look super bright and reflectively shiny.
The music even seemed better in Mario 64 to me. though the music is the only thing that still remains just as good if not better. Better in sound quality obviously but the songs like the one you heard throughout Basement in Mario 64 or that awesome japanese instrument in Shifting Sand Land.
    I’m just asking… what happened Nintendo?…
