It seems as though another UK retailer is clearing Nintendo stock. This time it’s Curry’s & PC World who are selling the Nintendo 3DS XL for £80 while stock lasts. Brash Games reports that a number of high profile retailers are clearing Nintendo stock. The site lists that the Wii Mini with Super Paper Mario was reduced to £31.97 at Curry’s and PC World. The Wii which includes Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort (with Wii MotionPlus) was reduced to £40 at Sainsbury’s, the 2DS was reduced to £69, the DSi was reduced to £40 at Sainsbury’s and now the 3DS XL has been reduced to £80 to clear at Curry’s & PC world. There’s no word if they’re restocking the console. You can call the customer service team on 0844 561 0000 to see if your local store has stock.

when a store tries to clear supplies, it means that the product is not selling as well as they expected it to, and that’s why they need to get rid of the overflow. it’s no secret that while the 3ds continues to sell decently, it is dropping in sales fast, and the wii u is history at this point. nintendo should be close to coming up with some sort of new console or consoles.
the shortles life of the 2 consoles will be 5 years…….no less.
its not a games shop, at least 80% of people go there or order from online, presumable their preffered game shop or amazon.
Nintendo always has a new home system every 5 years, it has Time to save the Wii U, it won’t be amazing but it will be decent

Funny thing about sales is that they HAVE to drop. If everyone in the world buys a 3DS… then who is left to buy one?
Probably means they know something we don’t. Like a new model. You don’t lower prices like this to sell stuff unless they think a newer model is replacing it and they are trying to sell what they can of the older model. Plus sales HAVE to decline. If everyone in the world buys a 3DS, next month will have no sales. Does that mean it was a failure and doomed? No.

eh, in the end…it was kinda worth it to me but I agree mostly…I did get the ambassadors program…but that goes for so long. I gave Kid Icarus uprising to my little nephew after a year of holding it. I did not like the controls. Mario Kart 7 kinda sucked but that’s my option, I am looking forward to the Mario Kart 8 though, that one looks fun.

Maybe it’s just that individual store selling poorly? I’m pretty sure not many people choose to buy gaming consoles at PC World/Curry’s etc. Their only option therefore is to reduce. :)

But if it doesn’t sell then they shouldn’t sell it in the first place? PC World/Curry’s doesn’t cater well to gamers. Curry’s is meant to specialize in home appliances while PC world sell’s computers…
McDonalds salads sell well however. Works pretty well for family’s seeing as there’s always that one member of the family who wants something healthy or vegetarian.
The same could be said about the Wii U. It’s not selling well so let’s just take it off and not sell it all. And if they want to sell it then advertising it and having deals is the way to go. And you never know. PC gamers might need some portable handheld to get away from consoles anyway.
That’s a horrible comparison. Plus PC markets are failing. MOST computer stores sell TVs and other stuff. Best buy was a pretty good example and how they’ve expanded.
