The first review of Ubisoft’s long-awaited Watch Dogs has appeared online ahead of the game’s embargo. The review is published by WCCF Tech who have compared the game to Rockstar’s critically acclaimed Grand Theft Auto V, which launched last year. The publication awarded the game a decent seven and simply says that it’s not the hacker that they had hoped for. Here’s an extract from the review.
“The visual fidelity is definitely not on point to E3 2012 – without big explosions which make sense – and the daytime looks bland and equivalent to Grand Theft Auto V (a last generation title which was highly optimized). Keep in mind, this is just on consoles after all. PC will perhaps match the E3 2012 footage, which was stated to have been run on a PC originally. Watch Dogs is a beautiful singleplayer experience with a lackluster multiplayer twist. The game is fun and has a lot of things to do for a free roam, but it just lacks as a title which delivers it all. People will want to just stick to Grand Theft Auto V on May 27th and stay in Los Santos just a little bit longer.”
“Watch Dogs is a great game that has a lot to do in the singleplayer but the multiplayer is painfully repetitive and not fun. The game stands on its own as a great singleplayer free roam but one that is outshined by Grand Theft Auto V.”
Well I guess I’ll be getting it then, considering GTAV still doesn’t have any PC plans announced. Also who was actually looking at this game for multiplayer? I never even heard of the multiplayer till now.
The last trailer did reveal the multiplayer mode. Its basically like GTA5, you have multiple players roaming Chicago doing their own thing.

How can you say GTA5 was garbage? I played GTA4 and it literally put me half asleep in 15 mintues. Its just so boring.

Yeah, GTA IV wasn’t that good, although the expansions (Episodes From Liberty City) were quite a bit better in my opinion.
After GTA4 main story bores me, I wouldn’t want to bother with the DLC.
The DLC packs that were released were brand new stories with new characters and more gameplay options; just in the same city.
But I understand why you wouldn’t want to go any further after playing the main game.
I can’t finish reading the whole review. Once the site compares the game to Grand Theft Auto as the basis of grading the game, it loses all merit and objectivity. You don’t do that.
Right I would like more detail on the hacking and gamplay rather than comparing it GTAV. We already know it’s an open world environment like True Crime, The God Father and GTA. What system did he play it on, how was the controls, tell me something new.
Evidently, he played on Xbox One but the review still loses some credibility when GTA V comes up three different times. I decided to read a little further. It would have been an okay review if not for that.

some were good, but some were taking points off for difficulty. I can understand some areas like the shooting, and the some dick baddies. I wouldn’t give the game anything higher then 8.5 but a more simple term is get it if your into action games like DMC, bayonetta or metal gear rising

Unless this reviewer has actually played the Wii U version & is using it as part of his/her review, why is this even posted to MNN?
A couple reasons:
1. It’s the first review for a game coming to Wii U.
2. The Last Alien game got trashed by reviewers and the port to Wii U was cancelled because of that.
3. The Wii U version will have some GamePad features. Woopdidoo. It won’t boost the score of the game when there are, what, five other platforms Watch_Dogs appears on? It doesn’t matter.
And then the Wii U version gets 9/10 while the PS4/X1/PS3/X360 gets 8/10…

You must have not played any of the Bioshock, Killzone, or Resistance games, or Crysis 1 and 2. Those are just some of the FPS’ with solid campaign modes. In my personal opinion, the only Halo game with a good single player campaign was Halo Reach.

Technically a 7/10 is respectable. This game looks like a solid 8/10 to me which is good.
