Duck Hunt Amiibo Data Apparently Found In Super Smash Bros Wii U

Looks like the Duck Hunt Dog Amiibo could be coming to Super Smash Bros on the Wii U, if the video embedded above is to be believed. An investigative sleuth has apparently found that there’s data for the Duck Hunt Dog hidden in Super Smash Bros, which doesn’t sound too surprising. However, as many of you will point out it could be relatively simple to fake this, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s legit. What do you think?

Thanks, Captain Commando

  1. Why would I doubt this? Every character SHOULD have an amiibo, it’s really a no-brainer. If not then it would be a dick move by Nintendo. He’s a hidden character, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’d be from the very last waves. But then again who knows?

    With how amiibo sales have been doing for the company, I dont see why they should consider not to make an amiibo for every single character, it is the reason they should consider acquiring more “shelf space” in the future in stores. They don’t even have to compete with Skylanders or Disney Infinity, they already accomplished something bigger by making those figures compatible with more games outside Smash. The value for the amiibo will be better…..if they put the uncommon ones in stock more often =__=;;

    1. In Duck Hunt’s Palutena Guidance Conversation, Palutena said that they are a trio (mysterious shooter). Just a random fact.

  2. Nintendo already confirmed every single playable character in the game will have an Amiibo, no exceptions… so what was the point of this article?

    1. I'm a Boss ass Bitch

      This article is important because someone hacked the NFC data of duck hunt. Thank about it. How in the fuck can someone get amiibo data. That’s only possible by NFC hacking.

  4. I fear the Duck Hunt amiibo will be abother one that’s hard to find. Nintendo REALLY needs to supply to the demand. Why are amiibo store shelves nearly empty everywhere I go? Nintendo has had PLENTY of time to produce more shipments of every first and second wave amiibo to stores.

  5. I would just like to point out that that video was taken of a linux desktop. It could just be the capture, but it could also be something far more sinister.

  6. This feels like a no-brainer bit of non-news….

    I mean, I thought we had been confirmed that EVERY Smash Character would get an Amiibo weren’t we? Even if they weren’t, then It stands to reason that they’d program the game to be capable of ANY of the fighters to potentially be Amiibo. I mean, if that’s a function of the game, it makes sense that they’d put it in there. Even if DHD wasn’t originally planned to be released as an Amiibo for some reason, the data would need to exist in the game to support it if they changed their minds and decided to do one later.

  7. They did stress that they planned to have all the playable characters in Smash receive the Amiibo treatment. That’s why they are retiring some so fast and making retail exclusive figures starting in February. It’s being done to get all the characters made and onto store shelves as fast as possible. This is due to store shelf restraints, as it’s easier to retire some and make some exclusive to get the figures made.

  8. I don’t know where people are getting that Nintendo said every character would get an Amiibo. I’ve never seen anything about that. Cool if it’s true, but I doubt that it would happen. Most people I’ve talked to are really annoyed with the poor way Nintendo is dealing with the release of the Amiibo. Really though, some of them are probably gonna be pretty useless after Smash. Ike and Marth for example, they’re not in any games right now really. Villager may open something in Animal Crossing U should that inevitably come out. But Wii Fit Trainer? Maybe you get a new color outfit for your trainer, haha.
