We’ve heard that development on Xenoblade Chronicles X is nearly complete which is good news for those of us avidly waiting for it. In the meantime a fan of the game over at GameFAQs named Ch33bDragonite has published some gifs and screenshots comparing the E3 2014 footage with the November 2014 footage. As you can see there’s been some prominent changes including ones to the UI as well as visual differences between the two builds. Check them all out here.

      1. Happy to see that for now, Nintendo is still one of the rare last developer/editor that still shows honest footages, and not precomputed shit that is finally much worse in the final game.

      1. just look at the detail level at distance.. you can see fare more details on the rocks.. they weren’t added, but they’ve alyways been there, just haven’t been rendered before because of the LOD.. they’ve obviously tweaked LOD distances to reveal more detail at longer ranges

        1. oh, they have, thanks I was looking more at the textures and shadings and felt there was minimal difference other than some lighting effects, but your right the range distance to which you can see is much better.

      2. Those arent more rocks, it’s the fact that the engine can now render that far to display the rocks, and the closer ones in more detail.

  1. It looks like they reduced the contrast a bit and added slightly more color. Also extra mountains in the second gif.

  2. Good rpg’s are such a rare commodity now-a-days. I have so much respect for Monolith for keeping rpg’s alive. It looks better than FF 15 to me.

        1. Considering neither of the games are out yet, we can’t really say anything about their content. And since this article is about Xenoblade X’s visuals, I assumed the person I replied to was talking about a comparison in graphics, because, as already mentioned, a comparison of content and gameplay is out of question at this point.

          1. I’ve never even played a FF game before and for some reason I’m looking forward to XV. Lol. The closest I’ve ever been to playing a real FF game is the Lightning Returns demo. And I actually enjoyed it. Don’t see why it gets so much hate.

                      1. The nintendo magistrate

its not an excuse im not a graphic whore like the majority of you morons ! there’s only a select few who see games for what they should be. plus i dont give a shit about gen crap

                        1. The nintendo magistrate

its just stupid game are about storyline and compelling characters not how well you can count the black head or wrinkles on the forehead. Some people these days it’s enough to make a true gamer sick

                    1. OK here a tips for you FF6 is the best (IMO). If I was you, I will play FF1, FF4, FF5, FF6, FF7, FF9, FF10,FF10-2 and then FF15 (I don’t feel like playing it after FF13 games which I played and beat).

Because I haven’t play FF12 I can’t really say anything about this game. I can say the same for FF11 and FF14 which are MMO

If you ask about the other FF games like 2,3,8,13-1,13-2 and13-3… don’t wate your money.

                      1. Wow, 8 is actually one of my favs. It also has some damn nice soundtracks.
I personally would recommend it. :p
And FF14 turned out quite good actually, after they’ve relaunched it, so that one’s worth giving a try too imo, if you’re into MMO’s.

                        1. Do I need to play FF from the first one to understand the story? Or can I just wait for FFXV to start? I wish I could play the other Final Fantasy’s but I don’t have any plans for a PS3 right now. I’m just skipping to PS4.

                        2. Nope, each part has its own story that isn’t related to the previous/next one, so you can start with whichever you want. Unless it’s some kinda sequel/prequel or spin-off, which you can easily tell by the game’s name (XIII-2 or FF VII Crisis Core, for example).
And some of the games are actually available on Steam, like VII, VIII, XIII and XIII-2. The system requirements aren’t really high either, so you should be able to play them even if your PC isn’t the best. And for FF9 + the parts prior 7, you could always get yourself an emulator – just to give you some tips if you really wish to play some of the older games. :p

                          1. Well, I don’t have a PC so that’s not an option. Lol. I know that VII is coming to PS4 (disappointed that it isn’t a remake btw) and XIV and eventually XV. But other than that, I think that’s it.

                          2. Oh oops, didn’t know that.
But yea, if you get yourself a PS4, you’ll have the chance to play FF7. They trolled everyone so hard with its announcement though, lmao I wish it would have been a remake too, but oh well.
Also, you might get the chance to play some of the other games too when Playstation Now launches, considering PS1/PS2 games will be available too. So you might get access to FF8 – FF12 as well. :p

                  1. I’ve played FF13 and I honestly don’t think it was bad either. It’s true that it’s different from what FF used to be, and it doesn’t really come close to the older FF games, but for what it is, it’s still a good game imo.
Can’t say anything about 13-2 and Lighting Return though, played 13-2 only partially and never played LR.
And yeaa, FF15 is one of my personal most anticipated upcoming games, really looking forward to it.

                  2. Lightning is the most cynically made character I can think of. She was made explicitly to try and be the “new Cloud” for this past gen of consoles, and her face and hair are 95% identical to Cloud in Advent Children, just lady version. On top of that, she was written how the current Square Enix staff THINK Cloud was, emotionless, humourless, bland, stoic. Look at the difference between FF7 Cloud, then KH1 Cloud, KH2 Cloud, Advent Children, and now Lightning. Gotten shitter and shitter with each version because the people making the games now are not the ones who made the older ones special. Think of say, the Simpsons, as a similarly good example.
Nomuras pretty good but he’s been surrounded by the hacks that started fucking shit up since FFX-2, the first series disaster. On TOP of that, Lightning now how this fucking awful waifu connotation because Toriyama is clearly in love with the character he wrote and the games come off increasingly as fetish outfit simulators. UGH.

                    1. I don’t have a problem at all with Lighting. I actually think she’s ok. I know who Cloud is but I’ve never really payed attention to him. I’ve never even noticed the similarities. I don’t really see what the problem is. They’re both cool imo.

                      1. If yo never play a game in franchise prior LR i can understand why you may like it but for for a lot of fans she is everything that is wrong with the franchise especially after the ending of the game which i will not spoil to you Cuz really you got to see to belive it
But besides Miss Cloud emotionless Doll the story of the game it’s just terrible it drags alot and it feels like Toriyama(lighting’s creator) is pushing his waifu as the greatest character in FF history
Also LR it turning point of the XIII trilogy were the games become about lighting instead of the whole group (well it was actually XIII-2 but she isn’t a playable character in the game)
Those who are new to FF they are gonna love LR they will probably think this is a masterpiece but the long time fans of FF LR will forever be remember as the game that make this Franchise lose the little respect it had left

                        1. Oh. I see. You’re probably right. I liked the demo of LR and I think I’ll probably enjoy the full game. I can understand why you might be disappointed. But I’ve heard good things about XV so hopefully you’ll be pleased by that one.

                  3. People hate the game because of lighting people who haven’t been with the FF franchise for a long time may like her but a lot of Westerns FF fans and veterana despise her and i know her trope works better in japan than in the states but she is a bad character in the end she basically Toriyama’s Fetish mannequin Waifu and after the end of lighting re turns which is people hate Her even more

                    1. No. And I won’t be able to because I don’t have the system for it. I suppose I’ll wait for Kingdom Hearts 3 though.

                      1. Haha, I basically just got a PS3 to play the HD collections for the games, and I’ve been obsessed with them for the past month and a half, so that’s why I was asking that question… Kingdom Hearts 3 though, is probably still like 1-3 years away, though, so I’m sure I won’t be burnt out on the series whenever that comes out!

                1. The franchise “being shit since 8” (which is your personal opinion) doesn’t eliminate the possibility of FF15 turning out decent.
And as I’ve said in a reply to the person above, since neither of the games are out yet, a comparison of content + gameplay can’t be made as of now, so I assumed the person I originally replied to, Deepsouth, was talking about the two games’ visuals. And in terms of visuals, I think it’s pretty obvious which one of the two games takes the lead.

                2. mate you forgot they made FF9 which was a great game. FF9 is way better than FF7 IMO. But agree with you that as from FF8 the quality of FF games start to went down the hole.

            1. Agree FF XV may have very detail graphics but the Gameplay looks very scripted Also after The horrible Lighting trilogy i don’t belive they can pull a good story again but talking about Xenoblade Chronicles X the game Looks beautifull it may not be Destiny in terms of look but artistic graphics look better and age better than hyper realistics graphics
i can’t wait to play this game

                1. That’s not Riki, it’s apparently a son/ancestor of a Nopon NPC in the original Xenoblade (Satata). In the Japanese version of Xenoblade Satata was called Tatsu, which is the name of the Nopon in the trailer… so still no Riki

          2. just in case its hard to tell, there is now a farther field of view, the fog looks better, trees have been redone, landscapes have been slightly changes, textures received a slight upgrade, and the overall color scheme has been tinted slightly brighter.
