During today’s Nintendo Direct, the company confirmed that six new Super Smash Bros Amiibo would be launching this April. Releasing in Europe on April 24, fans will be able to get their hands on Robin, Lucina, Wario, Charizard, Ness and Pac-Man. Alongside the new Smash characters, Nintendo will release six alternative character versions under the Super Mario Amiibo Collection – including Mario, Peach, Luigi, Yoshi, Bowser and Toad. Plus, getting your hands on a Toad amiibo will unlock a bonus hide-and-seek challenge mode in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. The Super Mario Collection will be available on March 20 in various retail stores.

Charizard isn’t gonna be rare. Unless they’re exclusives (like Lucario), I don’t think much from Zelda or Pokemon will become rare

Lucina & Robin… who will both no doubt be the rare ones of this set. I’m hoping with Code Name STEAM using the Fire Emblem amiibos for unlocking characters of them in the game that Nintendo will support these amiibos for at least 3-6 months. But I won’t hold my breath, so I’m ready to preorder them off Gamestop the moment they go live.
I can see them both being rare for sure after Marth became so rare. You’re right though, Code Name Steam may help with that. I would say it makes financial sense to make them available but it’s Nintendo so who knows lol. I’m pissed, I lost my wallet at the gym yesterday so I’ve got like no cash till I get replacement cards in the mail. Luckily I had MAYBE a dollar cash in the wallet lol. I’m going tomorrow to try and get rosalina from target (highly doubt I’ll get her but lol we’ll see) so hopefully this guy I met a week and a half ago will spot me lol. Him and his friend became my amiibo hunting partners. He’s gonna possibly sell me a skull kid edition of majora’s mask so hopefully he’ll spot me too. Good luck getting lucina and robin. Try gamestop tomorrow, they have been telling me that tomorrow might be the day to start pre-orders for wave 4 since wave 3 releases, but they didn’t know for sure, they just assumed.
Oh god! I hope they don’t put them up for preorder til around 12 pm! If they put the preorders up at 3 or 4 am, I’m fucked.
