Super Smash Bros for Wii U & Melee Will Be Playable At EVO 2015

Two Super Smash Bros games will be playable at this year’s Evolution Championship Series following the line-up announcement today. Fighting games confirmed for EVO 2015 were detailed on a special Twitch live stream hosted by Mike Ross and tournament organiser Joey “Mr. Wizard” Cuellar. The event is due to take place at the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas between July 17 – 19. You can check out a list of all the games confirmed below for the 2015 tournament.

  1. Looks like a pretty good roster. I’ll probably be looking at the Apex 2015 tournament a lot more since it’s the biggest Smash tourney, but I’m sure that they’ll be some fun rounds of Smash here as well. Watching those battles is always fun!

  2. I’m fine with melee being there, but not smash 4, it’s roster is way too unbalanced for a competitive tournament. I’m dissapointed that it’s taking up a spot that could of gone to BlazeBlue or King of Fighters

    1. How is the roster unbalanced? Melee and Brawl were more unbalanced than Smash 4. Melee will always be my favorite Smash, but Smash 4 doesn’t have any characters that are so bad they’re almost unplayable or are OP. Meta Knight and Falco were HEAVILY nerfed, but they’re still good fighters.

  3. Good move. Keep the current game in the minds of the fans and others. Momentum great games and advertising is all the Wii U needs to at least push sales past GameCube…

  4. Shoutout to the comment section for understanding competitive Smash and not being the kinds of people who wonder why Melee is still being played.

  5. Will be interesting to see the difference between the smash 4 and melee fights, and if the same people play on both games. As much as I like the new roster and the new game, there’s too many fighters that allow for camping, and too many fighters that don’t require skill to be good. Kind of like lucas in brawl compared to Ness. Brawl started the trend of easy fighters that don’t require much skill, and 4 continued the trend.
