Wondering which consoles and handhelds were the best-selling in Japan during 2014? Well wonder no more. Japanese sales tracker Famitsu has revealed that it was the Nintendo 3DS that was the best-selling gaming device in the country by a long shot. Interestingly, the Nintendo 3DS was followed by the PlayStation Vita which has remained popular on Japan. The Wii U came in fourth place.

Great system, lacked support – Sony cant keep up with IP’s like Nintendo, Microsoft gladly stays out of the handheld game for this reason

Japan isnt the whole world. Nintendo is doing poorly worldwide thats the reason of those sentences. Anyway nintendo is working hard and its getting results hope they dont fall of next year because most likely ps4 an one will attack hard
Nintendo has sold 59 million gaming devices worldwide this generation. I would hardly call that “doing poorly”. Especially since Sony and Microsoft have only sold around 40 million gaming devices combined.

People that say the Wii U is doomed, or that Nintendo is doomed, don’t say it because they actually believe it. They say it because they want it to happen. They never needed evidence to write their doom and gloom articles.
I firmly believe that after 2015 the Wii U will be recognized as one of the greatest gaming consoles of all time. It will never outsell the Ps4, but it will trump it with quality software.
