The Meta Knight Amiibo figure will be available to purchase at Best Buy on February 20th. The news was sent out in an email to all those who had pre-ordered the figure via the popular US retailer. Here’s what the email says in case you didn’t get sent one.
There has been a change to the release date of the pre-ordered item listed below. The new release date is 02/20/2015. If that is okay with you, and you accept the change, you don’t have to do anything.

I can’t ever see a metaknight…my friend’s amiibo, which was meta knight, he looks so deformed, that it has turned my stomach…I don’t wanna see anymore metaknights amiibos…

Can’t wait for them to get bought up by scalpers and resold for ridiculous prices due to being “discontinued”.
Well you will need a pre-order to get him in store. So unless they just don’t have them all locked in or someone doesn’t pick their pre-order up, you might get lucky.
I wouldn’t worry about scalping so much anymore. Most stores have been getting better with the scalping issue, limiting how many you can buy and not even telling you how many they have in the store over the phone. So that won’t happen unless these scalpers bought up all the pre-orders, the stores I talked to are only holding the ones they get for pre-orders. They don’t have enough to sell on the shelf without pre-orders, at least with the stores I called.
Might differ where you are, but that’s how it is here.
Now that’s an Amiibo that looks alright it’s Meta Knight that just loves heights.

Stores already have em, he just can’t be sold until the 20th. So call to make sure your pre-orders are reserved if you got in store or if they even have enough to fill your order.
If you don’t have him pre-ordered, you most likely aren’t getting him form what I gathered. I called Bestbuy today and they only got a small amount in store. The store I pre-ordered from, only got 9 in and they are all reserved for the people who made in store pre-orders.
Which is good for me. Not so good if you didn’t pre-order though, so good luck.

Not the stores I called, and more specifically the store I pre-ordered in. I pretty much called every Bestbuy within a 50 mile radius already assuming I might miss out even with a pre-order, just for a back up plan. Luckily in my case, they said he was reserved for pre-orders only since they don’t have a lot, and that I would get mine no matter what.
Unless some stores around you didn’t receive a lot of in store pre-orders, so they may have some left over. If you get lucky and they do, they might even let you pre-order it in store to secure your reserve on it.
I’d definitely call around and check to be sure in your area. I’m in Texas. So you know how that goes, could be different where you are.
Thanks for all the info, I’ll go check tomorrow on my way to pick up my two Shulks. I’m in Florida, so hopefully it’s different and I get lucky lol. I have 2 Best Buys near me, one right outside my development, so I think I have a decent chance.

On average from each store I called, they’re only getting in 5-14 per store in my area. He is gonna be a pain to get, harder than Rosalina most likely.
I feel you should be fine though, if you stay on stop of it. Or maybe I’ve just been lucky, who knows but I haven’t missed out on an amiibo I’ve wanted yet.

Im sure Target had extra Rosalinas from the Canadian stores that they closed down recently.

My brother pre-ordered 3 Meta Knights (one for him, our niece and for me). Good thing too. I can’t believe the HECK I’ve been going through just trying to collect them all. So far, I only missed out on Marth. No stores ever got him.
Tell me about it, my fellow hunter. There were so many times I wanted to give up, but I’ve made it this far in the lines of battle, the war is almost over for me and I’m so close to owning every amiibo I want.
I can’t wait to get my hands on Meta Knight, he’ll be the last to complete the exclusive collection, since I got all the others. If this amiibo mess doesn’t improve, he is definitely the last exclusive I waste my time on. I just can’t keep doing this every day, hawking these exclusive amiibos down like this.
Now I just need Ike, Sonic, Lucina, Robin, Ness and Charizard. Okay, maybe not that close to being done…
Hehe, yeah. Every time I think I’m done with the amiibo collecting, another wave is announced. And now the Super Mario series. It’s a never ending thing.
