The Official Nintendo 3DS Charger Is Hard To Come By In The United States

We already know that the New Nintendo 3DS doesn’t ship with a charger and this has sparked many a debate, but a worrying thing is is that the official Nintendo 3DS charger is hard to come by in the United States. Amazon only have a small amount available on their website and it’s also hard to find on Best Buy, GameStop and Walmart, which are four of the biggest retailers in the country. You can always buy a third-party one which are slightly cheaper, but I always prefer to have the official Nintendo ones which are only $9.95.

Thanks, Twilight Warrior

  1. 19.99 at futureshop and bestbuy in canada and they have a lot at that price which is double what it was before the n3ds.

  2. It’s obvious Nintendo doesn’t want you to trade in your old 3ds. And I can’t say I blame them, it would be bad for business..

    1. I wonder if they made a deal with some u.s retailers to not release the chargers with the new 3ds so that people would buy up these stores remaining chargers.

  3. and as you know that its Nintendo that wont do it because they just don’t want to make to much it will make their workers too tired thats what i think but work is about getting tired and making money what does nintendo don’t want to make their men and women money they should talk to Reg he will do somthing about it

  4. 3rd party chargers wont void your warranty. Only using a charger that’s not licensed will void your warranty. Everything you can buy for nintendo at walmart are officially licensed by nintendo.

  5. HA i have tons of them, bought a ton of the charging cradle bundles for 2 bucks each when they where on clearance at my local kmart XD

    1. Understocking builds a manufactured demand for a product. Which in turn brings good publicity to said product. It’s business 101 and Nintendo has been doing it for decades.

  6. Really, Nintendo? You release a new Nintendo 3DS model without charger, and don’t supply enough with chargers in the stores?

    Questionable marketing tactics.

  7. Thanks Nintendo for pulling a dick move. It costs a few cents to make one, are you really going to be like that and say to people “buy one for $10” when only 45 millions 3dses and maybe 20 million dsis are out there?

  8. I’ll just adjust the old cradle, it’s cheaper.

Japan and EU had their first taste of not having the chargers included when the 3DS XL was introduced, so I knew it would happen to NA sooner or later. Oh yeah nobody bothered until it happened to them…

Wow. If you don’t release the console with the charger, like others have said, you could at least make it easy to buy the needed charger & make sure there are plenty out there for sale!
