Germany: 9% Of Console And 58% Of PC Games Were Sold Digitally In 2014

Some interesting video game statistics have come out of Germany in 2014. 9% of console games were sold digitally while a whopping 58% of PC games were sold digitally last year. That’s €2668M in revenue for what appears to be a healthy market. Germany is the second biggest video game market after the United Kingdom in Europe. 1. I really hope they don’t try to go full digital on consoles, that would completely put me off. I lived in a very remote area where we had dial up and up to 10mbps which was very expensive only (and still do).

  2. Since when is the UK a bigger video game market than the USA and Japan? Germany is second biggest after UK? I’m fucking tired of the admins putting opinions in the articles and not proofreading submissions.

    1. Mmmm that salt

Like others said above, is this really surprising given how limited and expensive digital gaming is? I wouldn’t be surprised if digital sales only accounted for less than 10% of most major release profits.

  3. And I still bet that 9% was worth 100% of digital sales. I’m shocked 58% considering Steam doesn’t give out its sales numbers, but they’re pretty easy to figure out.

  4. Of course! Germans don’t buy nothing that don’t come bound in human skin.

    GODWIN SQUAD, AWAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!
