Wreck-It Ralph Voice Actor Confirms Sequel

Wreck-It Ralph is officially getting a sequel. The voice actor behind Ralph, John C. Reilly, has signed on for the forthcoming Disney film, which is reportedly called Wreck-It Ralph 2. Plot details haven’t been revealed yet, but we heard that Mario may be making an appearance in some way, shape or form. The first Wreck-It Ralph was released in 2012 and features a number of well-known villains, including Nintendo’s Bowser and Sega’s Doctor Eggman.

  1. Sweet. Glad it’s coming.

The first one is easily one of my Top 5 favorite animated movies.

  2. Ralph: “I’m gonna wreck it…… with even more nostalgia and heartwarming moments in the sequel.”

  3. Glad to hear this is still happening–I remember they announced this and then went quiet for ages, haha. It still sucks the Frozen sequel had priority, or we’d probably be seeing this in 2018. I guess waiting a little longer won’t hurt anybody, though.

    1. I believe the director said a while ago that, should a sequel ever come, he would like to explore console and online gaming next.

  4. After this long day of gloom and doom from the passing of Iwata, I thought this post said “Wreck-It Ralph Voice Actor Dies” when I first looked at it. Death is on my mind.

Anyway, I hope the sequel is much better than the first one. I didn’t care much for the first film. Mainly because of all the unknown, nobody characters. I thought it would have been better if the main character was an actual, known video game character.

    1. The movie was great. And most of the characters are well known. Just because you don’t know them doesn’t mean other people don’t. Perhaps you’re too young to know the characters, but us older gamers know most if not all of the characters. And the main character being an actual video game character would not have been the same kind of movie. Wreck-It-Ralph is now a beloved character. The movie had charm and was funny. Your reasons for not liking it are your opinion, and you are entitled to it, but I just don’t agree.

  5. Wreck-it-Ralph felt like a tease. Video game fans were suckered in because of the recognizable characters like Bison and Bowser, and yet they are out of character while the generic Zombie says more lines. Sure the story is… okay, but that does not make up for the fact that this movie was bait for an already rich company to take in more (undeserving) profit. Besides, it has some feels, but this could have been a Care Bears movie and still withhold the same feels.

Making a sequel is another way to sucker in people again now that we recognize the Wreck-it-Ralph universe to some degree (a universe that isn’t even all that memorable or structured like video games.. ex: a glitch behaving the way it does in this movie is an excuse to use the word glitch and “relate” more to the video game fandom). Sorry to say, i am not happy about Disney’s decision to make this movie. Not that i don’t like Wreck-it-Ralph, i just don’t like what Disney’s motives. If there was a Mario appearance, it would be undeserving of that lovable guy and his humble company.

  6. Alright it’s time to move on from the grievances and whining and look toward the future for nintendo and I still need to watch the first movie

  7. I loved the first one and I love Disney/Pixar so I’m glad to hear a sequel is coming. If they are really planning on bringing Mario to the big screen, I do hope Nintendo allows it this time and not another character from other IPs.

  8. i hope the squeal will be better then the first one other wise some people saying that mario will make a cameo appearance instead of a major role i think the voice of mario will have a small role on this one because it will have that like sonic that he had a small role on the first one so i dont know if one of those characters from the first one will return in the second one i think disney is making money on this film.

  9. I’d love to see them add Link into one of these movies & give him a voice. Make sure he’s a serious character in the movie, though. It will be a nice way to test the waters for giving Link a voice. If majority hates it, least it will be done in a movie that has no real connection to the Zelda franchise. If majority likes it, keep the voice actor & the personality the same for a future Zelda game & see how it fares.
