Yes, you read that right! Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash will work with an impressive 57 amiibo once it launches later this year. Of course, you will be able to use the dedicated Chibi-Robo! amiibo which includes more functionality than existing amiibo including the ability for him to become Super Chibi Robo or alternatively allow you to receive a special figure from the Toy Capsule Machine. If you decide to use one of the 56 other amiibo you will get in-game coins. Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash is destined to come to the Nintendo 3DS on October 9th in the United States.

I’ve cared about chibi-robo with all my heart since I first played it on the gamecube and any chibi-robo-related content to make it out of japan is an absolute miracle and should be regarded as such by western nintendo fans, unless we’re really that desperate to lose another series by showing such disinterest that it becomes trapped in japan forever
I’m actually thinking of trying out the chubby robo series…and zip lash seems NOTHING like it…whether that’s a good/bad thing I don’t know (maybe I play the GC one and hate it) but several CR fans have complained so it’s a bit worrying.
Also, I’m not supporting a game that doesn’t look appealing just because I want a certain franchise to live. Who knows, if I supported that game they might make the next chubby robo a platform as well.
I’m not going to support a franchise by buying a mediocre looking game…just to “save it”. What if I did? Then they’d probably make zip lash 2 instead of an actual instalment!
No thanks. I’d rather buy good looking games than have to invest my hard earned cash into some stupid game so that MAYBE the next one would actually play like chibi-robo.
