Nintendo Is No Longer In List Of Top 100 Brands

Interbrand, the company who establish the world’s top 100 brands, has taken Nintendo off their top list. This is the first time that Nintendo hasn’t been added since the list’s inception back in 2001. The list looks as a number of factors including the financial performances of companies as well as how well their brand is resonating with consumers. Interbrand Japan CEO Yuki Wada says that the Kyoto based company failed to make the list due to the fact that they’re playing catch up with other console manufacturers and are therefore not keeping up with the changes in people’s lives. Wade points towards the fact that they have only just embraced smartphone gaming for example.

      1. I expect that most people’s lists on this site would be like this:

        1: Nintendo

        2: Everyone else.

        3: Ubishit and EGay

(Not my list, just predictions of what people would most likely type.)

  1. Wow so they ignored the fact that they make fun games more than focusing on hardware? Holy shit so its not only the gaming industry who cares more about powerful hardware… This is getting serious…

    1. Well, it doesn’t matter how amazing their products are, I guess, as long as it’s not a hit among the people.

    2. No, they totally deserve to get out of the list. They don’ know what the industry wants. We want powerful hardware and games we can care about, not Amiibo Festival and Frederration Force. Nintendo is a stubborn and dumb company always making their own soup.

      1. Amiibo is soooo dumb. And they don’t manufacture enough of them to make matters worse. Nintendo lost my money forever with the Wii U. Even the 3DS doesn’t compare to it’s predecessor. Friend codes stupid too. They don’t understand anything but their own brand. That’s why they are tanking.

  2. “Wade points towards the fact that they have only just embraced smartphone gaming for example.”

Am I mistaken or isn’t Nintendo the first home gaming company to do this? Are Microsoft and Sony already involved in smartphone gaming? If Nintendo is the first one, wouldn’t that make their entry into smartphones pretty revolutionary?

    1. Sony has had those shitty endless runners for iPhone, and MS has integrated their achievements system with there W8 and W10 games. So no, Nintendo isn’t the first and once again, are late to the party.

        1. Same buddy but I do listen to a lot of gaming related podcast and every now and then they mention it. They aren’t bad games either, but they are rip off of other popular games. Like that Uncharted mobile game is essentially a Temple Runner thingy. Stuff like that.

        2. Many companies – Ubisoft, Activision, Bungee, Sony/PlayStation, Microsoft, etc – use mobile apps to promote their own games. Like, LittleBigPlanet for example has a free runner game that unlocks costumes in LBP3. Knack has a puzzle game that unlocks powerups in Knack. Activison and Bungee has tie-in apps that help track your record in-game, such as the CoD app or Destiny companion app, etc. Even Pokemon Company released a PokeDex app that sorta works like a companion app.

Personally, I think Warner Bros does the mobile/console interactivity the best, as they release actually fun tie-ins that also function as standalone games, such as the Mortal Kombat and Injustice tie-ins.

          1. The pokedex app is a port of a 3ds app like shuffle mobile, its mostly a bw2 companion app and is irrelevant now since they didn’t update it for Gen 6, but it does have quizzes and is thus a game. technically Nintendo entered smartphone gaming in 2012

      1. You beat me to it by a whopping 20 minutes, lmao.
I need to learn to refresh the page before leaving a comment after having had the article opened for a while. :p

    2. Not sure about Microsoft, but Sony has indeed entered the smartphone market already, not too heavily though. There’s a LBP minigame, for example. There’s also the official Playstation app, lets you manage your PSN account just like you would do on your console, giving you direct access to the PSN store and stuff like that. But that’s not really smartphone “gaming” in that sense, I suppose.
But yea, Nintendo is not the first one of the “Big Three”, even less the first gaming company in general, as others such as EA and Square Enix have been doing that for a while now, I believe.

      1. There are some Halo games for mobile. Microsoft’s been there a long time.
Sony had also a PlayStation All-Stars Island game, but no one ever played that as well.

    3. Sony also had PS Mobile for a long while, kind of like their own mobile store front with small indie games. They canned it last month though, since the majority of games on PS Mobile were really crappy.

    1. What kind of stripper would Nintendo even be? I imagine an awkwardly tall, innocent in nature woman with big breasts, who is only popular with children age 3-8 and and men aged 25-45. She’s still pretty young but was raised by her grandparents, so her tastes in things are a little out of the times. Which explains why she doesn’t resonate with the majority of vain teens very well.

  3. That’s a bullshit reason not to include them when there are other notable factors that should’ve kept them on that list. How about the fact that they’ve remained in the gaming business for over 3 decades while others have died or on the brink of dying? How about them having the world’s best selling gaming device (3DS) and the best selling home console in Japan? How about them selling more exclusives this generation than both Sony and Microsoft have? And let’s not even go into the amiibo craze that’s been taking over the world and…..I don’t know but…..who owns amiibos? Oh that’s right, Nintendo does. These guys are so clueless to where it’s just downright sad…smh

    1. Agent 5 of squidbeak

I think they only looked at the Wii U failing’s and not looked to the 3ds sucees, like most people also i don’t think the Wii u is the best selling consol in Japan i think that’s the ps4

      1. According to vgchartz these are the current gen consoles sales in Japan as of August 29th of this year

        Wii U – 2,470,000
        PS4 – 1,600,000
        Xbox One – 60,000

          1. What does that have to do with me showing him that the PS4 is not the best selling home console in Japan? Sidestepping the obvious point is strong with this one…smh

            1. What’s the point in comparing the Wii U with the PS4 again?

What is the point in bringing up the PS4 whenever the Wii U is on the spot?

              1. When did I mention the PS4 in my first comment? I only said that the Wii U is the best selling home console in Japan to prove a point and then Agent 5 of squidbeak said the PS4 was. I only showed him that he was mistaken. So no, I’m not bringing up the PS4 because the Wii U is on the spot. You might wanna take that up with Agent 5

                1. The best home console (which were on the market for 12 months before the competition) in the mobile/handheld land. What’s your point again?

        1. Nope but they’re clueless now. Amiibos have been selling like IPhones, Nintendo has the best selling gaming device in the world in the 3DS and they have the best selling exclusive 1st party content in the world and still they didn’t make the list because they are late adapters to mobile gaming market? Fuck outta here with that nonsense

          1. Except they handled Amiibos very poorly. Only releasing a few of each character that isn’t Mario, making you fans pay hundreds of dollars for a low quality toy. And if their exclusives aren’t enough to sell the Wii U, then it’s not enough to to be in the top 100 list.

    2. And we’re supposed to care about top brand because?! It doesn’t matter what brand you favor, the only thing that matters is supply and demand, and I demand some A GOD DAMN ACTUAL METROID SEQUEL FROM NINTENDO, GODDAMMIT!

        1. Come back and talk smack when Nintendo’s the one renting out streamed games from their previous home console, because they don’t want to offer native BC that would dent the cash they make on constant remasters.

That’s exactly what Sony’s doing, and you don’t bat a damned eye while they ream you.

          1. I own Sony products, doesn’t mean I agree with everything they do just because of that. Or you simply don’t pay for practices you don’t agree with, which is exactly what I do. Although I feel this is an arguable topic about backwards compatibility, as I personally don’t care that much about it, and it goes both ways. I never liked subjective arguments.

To be blunt, I buy a new console to play new games. Sure it is nice to have the benefit of playing my older games on it, but I’m sure I’m not the only person who really doesn’t care if I can’t. And then I’m sure there are people like you who might care more, just saying you can’t please everyone when it comes to this.

And it’s obvious why most of Nintendo’s hardware is backwards compatible, because it always comes at a sacrifice. That’s why even for the Xbox One, it isn’t as simple as popping in an old Xbox 360 disc and playing, you have to download the game, and even then not all games are compatible.

Nintendo has rarely changed their hardware enough between systems, and because of this they are able to achieve backwards compatibility the way they do. The Wii U basically has the same hardware as the Wii did, just upgraded.

The PS4 and Xbox One are totally different from their previous counterparts, they use different RAM and processors, and the only way they could have achieved full backwards compatibility on a hardware level is by keeping similar architecture to their older systems, which would hold them back. I’m sure you know this. So it isn’t as easy for them to do backwards compatibility without emulating it within the systems OS, unlike Nintendo.

And if it is honestly that big of a deal, I’ll just keep the old console around, just like I have with the PS3. I don’t get why that’s so hard to do.

Eventually all systems come to a point where they can’t play their older games anymore… You also realize someone could say the same thing about Nintendo for charging for NES games or anything of the likes… Should people be just as mad because the Wii U can’t play NES cartridges anymore…? No, it happens, and it should be totally expected as a gamer that one day your either going to have to emulate these games somehow or simply keep your older system around to play them.

    3. PC Master Race Agent Narud

      ||This was foretold in the prophecies of the old……

      ||The 3 creations of the flawed were only made for our resurrection……

        1. PC Master Race Agent Narud

          ||That has already been taken care of young prodigal, your insolence will be punished when it all comes down……

      1. The fact that he used this as a factor in his listing made him lose all credibility to me. If you spread to mobile gaming, that’s fine. But if it’s a FACTOR in how good a company you are, that’s sad.

        1. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

          >>>Indeed, those Appling civilian casual nonsense games and forces are insignificant next to the power of the empire>>>

    4. The logic by Nintendo fundamentalists:

“Nintendo is always the #1 company in the world, regardless the chart, or the cirteria used to build the ranking.”

“Anyone who doesn’t agree with the aforementioned statement, is a clueless idiot.”

                      1. Anubis, Son of Osiris

I don’t know what to believe anymore honestly. I still think that it’s just him using another account trying to trick us like how I can. However, Tetris will just accuse me of being that master race because

                        ||I can mimick his comments like this…

                        1. On the one hand, I’m sure MC Faster Maze Reagent Neruda is Tetris Quadradus XP. On the other hand, you must be Sickr.

                          Right? ;)

        1. “Interbrand Japan CEO Yuki Wada says that the Kyoto based company failed to make the list due to the fact that they’re playing catch up with other console manufacturers”
They’re not playing catch up, they’re doing their own thing entirely and that’s what I like about Nintendo. anyway I never see anyone caring about this list except this time, I didn’t even know it existed so I’ll just go back to not caring.

          1. Nothing wrong with that at all, but there comes a time when you just need to move forward along with everyone else, you can’t hold onto the past forever. Just aiming to be different isn’t always enough, either.

That is the problem some have with Nintendo, is that many of the decisions or choices they’ve made recently aren’t practical by today’s standards, and instead they stubbornly keep holding onto their past ways. You may agree with them, but other don’t have to.

I also find it kind of insulting they’ve already put more effort into getting their games on mobile phones, than all the effort that’s been needed for years from them to add basic features to their systems, that others gaming systems have had since 2006.

Believe it or not, some things actually do improve for the better, and it saddens me that Nintendo has taken so long to take advantage of a lot of these types of things that have made gaming all that much more fun, or just an overall better experience in general.

They literally always are late to the party, and this getting old to people should not at all be shocking to anyone.

          1. Rogue Master XenoRidley X3

Because at the time, they only had the Gamecube that was doing poorly. Everything else was doing fantastic. You also have to add into account that this gen, unlike that gen years ago, Nintendo has more than just games & a console to take care of under their brand name. The console is selling poorly even if it’s making a profit. The 1st party games are few & far between, and even when they aren’t, they all release mostly during one quarter of the year. 3rd party support is terrible. amiibo might be selling & making a profit but the stock for them is fucking atrocious unless it’s Mario, Zelda, or Metroid characters. And then there is the fact they are trying to play catch up to everyone else in the hardware department. Power isn’t the most important factor, yes, but it’s still an important factor regardless. Oh & let’s not forget they are ignoring a large group of consumers by giving them games they either didn’t ask for or changing games we love into something we don’t want.

Again, they didn’t have these problems back in the GCN era as they only had to support the console & the games, the 1st party games were not few & far between & even when they were there were 3rd party games to fill in the gap, there was no amiibo to worry about, they weren’t playing catch up at the time because they still focused on having their consoles up to date with the best hardware money could buy since the Gamecube was the most powerful console that gen, and they weren’t forcing gimmicks down our throats. Oh & they didn’t ignore a majority of the fanbase at the time, either, as we still got games that a majority wanted.

        2. I would have pulled them for the fact that they seem to like giving their olden-days fans the finger by giving us crap like Amiibo Party and Federation Farce.

Maybe this is karma for that.

        3. Well I’m not surprised. That’s what happens when you don’t deliver the best you can deliver to your customers. nintendo strikes me as so laid back and just not really pushing themselves to be the best. It seems like they got lazy and arrogant with that Wii money.

            1. A low budget 2D game. A game we absolutely know nothing about. Another low budget game with terrible graphics and slow gameplay from 2002. Yeah, go away. Nintendo is taking a shit on its fans and now fans shitting on Nintendo, except extreme fans like you.

                1. Yes it is. They basically reused every single already made sprites into on BluRay disc which is a waste of resource and money to make for instead of just cheaper digital game or 3DS.

                  1. Oh, okay. The sprites are reused, that makes it low budget.
P.S. Many new sprites had to be made for characters and objects that didn’t exist in past games but WERE added in later games.

                    Go home stranga, you’re drunk.

            2. Hmm. Zelda and Starfox can shut the fuck up until they decide to join the party. Smash Brothers and Mario Maker AND splatoon cannot keep a console or a brand alive on their own, and they are certainly no longer pushing the install base up.

                1. I prefer consoles not be sold using heavy-hitting IP’s as a insulting “carrot and stick” approach. Like they did with X.
I prefer a company that’s been making games for 20 years learn how to manage projects, advancing technology and customer’s expectations.

                  And thanks for the compliment.

              1. For real, tired of waiting. And it isn’t even about quality so much in this case, Nintendo poorly handled the Wii U’s launch and all these games that we are getting 3 years later, should have been on the console long ago.

People can’t use this quality excuse considering all of this. Nintendo fucked up big time with the Wii U, and it shows with how it’s perceived and how poorly it has sold.

            3. Mario Maker: 30 years of every 2D Mario game I ever played..already played years ago, Zelda Wii U..or NX at the same price? After Wii U flopped so fucking hard, hardly anyone would bother with NX at all. Star Fox Zero or Star Fox remake #2? Smash Bros. 4 on 3DS is the better and cheaper version so Wii U doesn’t say hi but rather goodbye.

              1. Blindness is another symptom of fundamentalists. There are two or three people over here who insists to defend Nintendo BS and for whom we all are trolls. Funny, they don’t like to be called by “fanboys”… Yeah, intolerance is another symptom of fundamentalists.

          1. It’s about the Children!!!
            Actually, IDK. :P
            Fanboys think it’s bullshit.
Fans see it as yet another nail in the current Nintendo’s coffin, hoping in vain they become great again
Trolls see it as a chance to troll!

          2. Because people are competitive in nature, and some are not intelligent enough to realize this or move past their animal instincts. So it hurts their feelings when they can’t be considered apart of the best, when in reality they’re apart of nothing, other than buying these companies products.

          1. I actually wish you were in charge of Nintendo. Although you come across as a fanboy, you’re not. You seem intelligent and loyal to what Nintendo is at the core most fans don’t even remember.
Put me down on your resume as a reference.

            1. But until you’re recognized by the top brass, consider me Rogue and generally hostile towards the current regime.

            2. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

              >>>Your words will echo across the empire and maybe someday I’ll lead the empire in some way>>>

              >>>Aggressive negotiations would be the starting point for the rise of the empire and the end of the Xbot infection>>>

        4. I agree. They’ve been out of the spotlight since the Wii U. Most gaming sites and discussions don’t even mention Nintendo anymore, it’s always PS x Xbox x PC x Mobile. They’ve become this side business. Sad but true.

            1. The 3DS is the worst selling handheld for Nintendo. Luckily it will almost reach GBA numbers, that one handheld that 3 years after release got eaten by the DS.

              1. “3DS is the worst selling handheld for Nintendo.”
Ugh, this horse is so dead we might as well make glue out of it. Despite the fact it’s the most selling 8th gen hardware and is over 50 mill, it’s still somehow bad. Oih.

        5. It was inevitable. Nintendo is going to stay on the down low until they fire off their Star Fox and Zelda rockets and announce the NX in suit.

          1. I’m sorry to say…I’m concerned that not even great games can save them. Like a bad breakup, people are finally moving on. They sold out their die-hard loyalists for casuals, and I guarantee they are in for a shock.
We loyalists (well, ex-loyalists) would forgive and forgive and still throw money at them. We’d buy shit just because it was Nintendo.
Their Casual crowd, that grew up on free apps, 99cent games and Steam Sales won’t dig nearly as deep in their pockets, and will expect the same quality for less.

It’s especially going to hurt because now, all of us that grew up on Nintendo, and supported them – we now have jobs…and the money I spend on entertainment isn’t going to Nintendo anymore, they just don’t want it.

            1. Oh don’t get me wrong, I don’t think they can really save themselves at this point either, I just mean in regards to being recognized within more media again, and becoming even remotely more well-known, I think the hubbub from those 2 releases and a new console announcment will bring them to the surface, if even just for a short time.

              1. Yeah, it HAS to help. And it is always possible it could turn the ship around.

At this point, I don’t think they can repair the damage. They need to rebuild. If the NX is friendly to developers and fans, and Zelda / Starfox are fucking spactacular…(Which I believe they could be) – Well, if a “doomed” company can bounce back, it’s Nintendo…but for fuck’s sake they have a lot of work to do…

            2. I have this feeling also, that Nintendo is not going to be so popular next time around, even with their next handheld. I could be wrong, but we’ll see.

              1. Oh believe me, they have done it now and they’ll almost nothing more than a funny name for the humiliated crowd that has grown tired of Nintendo’s shit and long moved on.

                1. Well, I’d hope for all our sake, they can somehow turn it around. It isn’t like I want this to happen, I’m just a realist.

I’d love to see the old Nintendo again, but with a new perspective on the future, or hell, even just the present.

                  -_-

        6. “Wow, this is actually the most surprising thing I’ve ever heard since that mediocre E3 show!”

          Said no one ever.

        7. Heh, not surprised, Nintendo is a shell of it’s former self, actually even that’s false, Nintendo is straight up a fucking joke. Nothing but morons making the most piss poor decisions, they aren’t trust worthy anymore, they don’t even know what they’re doing with their own hardware. They may listen to what fans want, but they don’t actually give a shit and do what they want. They’re arrogant and their ego has gotten to big. A few years of blacklash and poor sales may force them to have a reality check and realize they are not what they used to be.

            1. That Nintendo is much better than what lists make them seem. Even when they screw up, they’re still better than most companies or games that get the most praise. That’s always been the case. They have that special charm that just can’t be matched.

                  1. Yeah, he literally spews the same crap every time on every article, and yet keeps coming back to a Nintendo news site. If he’s not here for the news, is he just stalking people? :/

          1. We’ve been repeating this for a long time already: casuals are parasites. They colonize the host, multiply, kill it and go on to look for another target.

But I am sure that the other possible targets are way smarter than Nintendo and won’t get infected by this idiotic people.

                    1. HollowGrapeJ (The Legendary Video Game Master And Anime Wizard)

Oh right. You aren’t an Xbot. You’re a Nintendo fanboy. Thanks for reminding us. Lmao.

        8. I’ve been increasingly disappointed w/ Nintendo in recent years; even earlier w/ most of the other brands in the industry.

The state of games, genres, franchises, business practices… The masses’ thirst for raw power, conformity, multi-media, photorealism, cutscenes… In my eyes, 7th gen is where it all started to deteriorate (or was it 6th gen & the demise of the Dreamcast?).

Seems ATLUS, Platinum Games, & indies are the last hurrah of a dying art/hobby (console gaming). Aside from those, & to some extent Nintendo, no pub/dev have been able to bewitch me as they did in 6th gen & back.

Maybe “The fate of destruction is also the joy of rebirth.”–Neon Genesis Evangelion. But until a true renaissance occurs, after a true crash à la Atari shock, I’ll remain a pessimist. The paradise is nearly lost. A sign of the times? Or a sign that I’m too old?

          1. I think that the biggest reason why Nintendo disappoints ME a lot of times is simply due to me getting older. I’m a lot pickier now with what I like and expect in a game. And I have a habit of expecting TOO MUCH. That’s why no matter how awesome a game is, I still nitpick and complain about how this or that should have been done differently.

But sadly, there are games that I seem to be completely fading away from caring about at all. Like Smash Bros. I’m always mouthing off and wondering why they’re still putting SO much effort into adding more DLC and characters to a game that’s SO boring? But again, I blame my feelings on simply getting older. And the game just doesn’t feel NEW anymore. I pretty much instantly started hating on it when I first found out there wasn’t a regular, deep, story mode. That killed it. However, I LOVE amiibo!

Usually, every time I hear (or see) someone belittling Nintendo and saying a bunch of crap about them, I automatically think “they’re obsessed with violent, bloody M-rated games with foul language, guns and boobs”. Because that’s really the only kind of people I can see putting Nintendo down. I’m not blind to their mistakes. But I’m sure as hell not going to be a complete idiot and turn my back on them, and miss out on all of the great future titles like The Legend Of Zelda Wii U, Pikmin 4, and SOOOOOO many more. Their games are my all-time favorites.

No matter how much fun I might sometimes have on my PS3 etc., it doesn’t change the fact that Nintendo is still # 1 to me. Always will be.

            1. I hear ya. For me, Zelda, Fire Emblem, & Donkey Kong (2D platformer) are my favorite Nintendo franchises, & Nintendo has delivered there in recent years.

But then FE Awakening felt watered down & unbalanced.

I lost interest in Smash after Melee, & even then I got Melee as a Player’s Choice. It’s far too busy for me, & online or off, it’s only fun to play if friends are physically present. Regardless, I prefer 1-on-1 fighters. I also require a solid, single-player mode & story. Oh, & uh…unlockable content, meaning no DLC unless buying it still means I must earn it in-game. Smash does seem to have a lot of unlockables, but I seem to judge fighters based on Tekken 3 & Soul Calibur II. Overall, I think DLC & unlock parity has ruined the Fighter genre.

I also lost interest in AC w/ New Leaf. NL wasn’t bad, but I’m just burned out, having played all US-released ACs.

Nintendo’s lack of Wave Race, F-Zero, Sin & Punishment, a true Paper Mario, a true Metroid Prime, Baten Kaitos…
Inconsistent Fatal Frame availability & lack of physical release…
What about Eternal Darkness & Nintendo’s lack of enthusiasm for Shadow of the Eternals?
The absence of Rare’s IP still leaves a void that has yet to be filled (though Playtonic looks to satisfy/I love BK more than 3D Mario).

              No GCN on VC.
I know Nintendo isn’t entirely to blame for the following, but they should’ve also pursued:
Drramcast on VC (the competitors services offer some DC games since last gen),
& Symphony of the Night on VC (especially considering the success & amount of ‘Metroidvanias’ on GBA & DS; why’s the 1 that started it absent?).

Wii: most of Nintendo’s offerings were, imo, lackluster (AC, . & Wii seemed abandoned far too early.
Wii U: Gamepad’s potential was squandered.
More love given to 3DS than Wii U.
              Multiplats between ’em.
Still not enough examples of Nintendo franchises.
3rd-parties treated Wii U as something it wasn’t (thanks to the shackles of the AAA system [raw power & need for multiplatting]); if only they’d been as daring as they were when DS was @ the top of its game, or even just copied that paradigm (Trauma Center Wii U? The World Ends W/ You Wii U? A Wii U ‘Metroidvania’ is finally coming but a bit late).

& 3rd parties are just no longer the same, whether they support Nintendo or not. No real Resident Evil, real Tomb Raider, real console FF & Crystal Chronicles, Ogre Battle/Tactics Ogre…
Prince of Persia was 1 of my favorite 3rd-party franchises, but he’s been assassinated by something that fails to capture what made PoP fantastic (focused acrobatics, platforming, combat, puzzles, & boss battles).
Very few games anymore like Buck Bumble, Killer7, MadWorld, Sphinx & the Cursed Mummy, The World Ends W/ You, Bushido Blade, Klonoa, Brave Frncer, 2D Metal Gear Solid… Even the likes of Ridge Racer & Burnout are MIA; Hel, the entire Arcade Racer genre is not being fueld anymore (except a few indie examples). Maybe w/ the subgenre of Kart Racing (which 3rd parties conceded to a Nintendo genre monopoly), but MK has no checkpoints or grounded physics & gameplay. I love MK, but I really want a solid Arcade Racer (The 90’s Arcade Racer & Fast Racing Neo might not be enough & are a bit late in the game).

I could go on & on. I’ve done so in other posts. Basically, the industry ain’t what it used to be. That happens, but it’s devolved, morphed into some other kind of hobby, & stagnated far more than it’s advanced or innovated. & I think the path that was laid in 6th gen should’ve continued. Instead, most took a drunken U-turn.

        10. The adoption of mobile hasn’t been resonating well with Nintendo’s customers. I know I’ll be avoiding Nintendo games that require an android/ios game to unlock stuff. Also, putting up anti piracy measures and being vigilant about piracy and emulators is pretty hypocritical now that they’re releasing stuff on android. Especially considering the one smartphone platform they’re avoiding has a built in android emulator in dev mode

Another article that gives me faith in Nintendo’s fanbase. Again, only a small number of comments are defending Nintendo. And what do ya know? It’s the same, usual 3-5 people. lol

I guess Michelle, Namie, Pother, originalbloodace, takamaru64, Sleepy, shrekt, Quadramus, The Man of Brisk, & hero cup are all Nintendo haters and/or trolls, too, according to the people defending Nintendo on this article since even they know Nintendo’s brand isn’t as great as it use to be. Which would be strange since the names I mentioned actually defend Nintendo at times (Pother, originalbloodace, takamaru64, Sleepy, shrekt, Quadramus, The Man of Brisk, & hero cup) or actually have a couple of negative things to say about Nintendo but never come off as hateful or anti-Nintendo since they’d love it if Nintendo could turn things around & stay relevant (Michelle, Namie, & Pother.)
