Japanese gamers are in for a treat next month as Nintendo Japan has announced that they plan to release “Mario hanafuda” cards. The Super Mario themed cards were previously only available for purchase via the now discontinued Club Nintendo. If you are interested the “Mario hanafuda” cards cost 2,500 yen which is roughly £13.50.
I don’t know what hanafuda is butt a want those card’s
But*
This is what Nintendo were doing many decades before they even made video games.
It means flower cards, the rules of the game are fairly complicated, or at least requires some reading to get it down. But I know the months of the year have something to do with it. Basically the goal is to out score your opponents. There are other ways to play with the cards though.
These actually look pretty cool!! I may eventually buy these from Japan!
Speaking of Nintendo, someone has yet to confirm if those cards are region-locked!
lol I wonder if any of them will have to be censored before being released outside of Japan.
LOL!
Most of times, Nintendo seems to be out of touch.
On the cards: truth be told, I have some Hanafuda cards gotten from Club Nintendo a couple years ago. They are pretty neat.
Sweet!!
I already have mine from Club Nintendo before it closed
Seems Nintendo loves using that gold design.
The regular playing cards I picked up from Club Nintendo had a similar design, with gold and clear plastic.
So when/if they release outside of Japan, should we expect any of them to be censored for some stupid reason?
Oh! And will they come with hand holding instructions? Think of the casuals!
