Gamers in Japan will be able to sign up for their Nintendo Account today as registration for the service has gone live. We’ve yet to find out when the service goes live over here in the west. The company has also launched an official Japanese blog which you can visit here. Anyway, here’s some details regarding the Nintendo Account service:
- Until February 1st, get 100Yen for every 1000Yen spent on the Nintendo eShop. It’s:
- 1000 Yen per 24h, doesn’t work if you add it over the course of 2 days.
- Spending limit of 10 000 Yen per 24h (cannot get more than 1 000 Yen back per day)
- Money sent via code, received via email roughly one week after you spent the money
- The money you get via this promotion doesn’t count toward your next 100 Yen “coupon”
eShop titles just became more affordable.
I’m assuming in America this would be $1 per $10 spent on a game or 4$ per 3DS and/or $6 per Wii U game. The cash can then be be used as eshop credit or anything else available through the account. Sounds like a good deal to me. I’ll definitely will be purchasing eshop games more often.
So is this the my nintendo account shit
Linked my Japanese ID. Gonna waste money now.
If America get this deal then I’m going to end up wasting money like crazy.
Knowing how things are run at Nintendo of Americrap, we’ll get Nintendo Account around the same time we get My Nintendo. (Ugh! What’s with Nintendo & crappy names this gen!? First Wii U & now this shit!)
Don’t forget New 3DS!
Also, whoa, hey now, calling it Nintendo of Americrap insults anyone in America by definition (former English major, this kind of stuff gets me XD). NintenDORKS of America sounds MUUUUUCH better.
No. I’m insulting anyone with the same stupid, tyrannical mindset as Nintendo of Americrap! Like during the Civil War, America is split into two halves: America & Americrap! Americrap is ran by idiots like Donald Trump. America is ran by very smart people with a clue like Dan Aykroyd!
Anyone that gets mad about the term Nintendo of Americrap, they obviously have no sense of humor which further shows they are part of the Americrap part of America. lol
Hmm a 10% return for only a limited time? Meaning it’ll probably drop to a 5% retun down the road.
Not worth it unless you’re set in buying digital. We can still get physical copies via Amazon Prime for less, as well as Best Buy Gamers Unlocked for 20% off.

Wait, only 100 yen per 1000 yen spent? Translated to USD, that would be like $1 per every $10 spent.
This somehow seems WORSE than the coins/stars system of Club Nintendo, but I will withhold judgment until the program launches and has been in practice for a bit. Maybe I have it wrong.
