This week’s post Christmas UK charts are now in via GFK Chart Track. It’s been a pretty disappointing week for Nintendo software as the only game for Nintendo platforms in the top forty is Just Dance 2016 on the Wii. That’s right, there’s no Super Mario Maker, Splatoon, Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros or any other Nintendo software. The charts mainly comprise of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One titles. You can check them all out, below.

Activision Blizzard’s ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops III’ takes a third consecutive No1 for week 52, 2015 having claimed the Christmas No1 last week. Sales climb by an impressive +40% over last week and for the 8 weeks on chart so far since launch this title has never been out of the Top 2 (50% of the time at No1). This week’s chart actually covers the run-up to Christmas and includes Boxing day, which explains why overall sales climb +13% units / +15% revenue over last week. And in fact there is still one more week to go for 2015, as this is a 53 week year. The Top 5 games all show impressive increases over last week, with EA’s ‘Star Wars Battlefront’ still at No2 (+16%), EA’s ‘FIFA 16’ steady at No3 (+20%) and Bethesda a non-mover at No4 with ‘Fallout 4’ (+13%). Rockstar/Take 2 climb 3 places to No5 with ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ (+58%) and Square Enix drop 1 place to No6 with ‘Just Cause 3’ (+0%).

If I see anyone potentially playing any of these types of games on future nintendo consoles on my friends list you will be deletf. I will not accept such peasantry.

Nintendo don’t need this kind of third party support. If you think diferently please stay the f!@k off my consoles.
Some friend you are. Hahaha.
I guess it’s only odd that it’s a wii title instead of a wii u or 3ds title sitting somewhere on the list. xD Ah, well. It’s just how the gaming climate rolls though. Nintendo will never be the actual star of the sell charts. I’ll give them that they do try to be innovative, hence the only one with a gamepad controller even at this time, but you can’t sell systems based on potential or innovation alone. Not anymore. In some ways you have to cater to all sorts of audiences if you want to make it in the gaming industry, and Nintendo, frankly, missed that part. I do wonder if there was any way things could have been different if the wii u was on par with the xbox one/ps4, but honestly I think it’s more mainstream to hate Nintendo more than anything else in today’s industry.
Man, the U.K. is a dark place:(
My god, they have no taste in games in the UK
1. Star Wars Battlefront should have been better. The lack of story or space battles is atrocious.
2. GTA5 is on my list of games to get for my PS4. I can’t wait to return to the streets of San Andreas & fuck some people & other shit up!
3. Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate is another one. I wonder if I should look up a summary of the previous games before it but after Black Flag so I’m not behind on the story in the modern era.
4. When is Rise of the Tomb Raider supposed to stop being a timed exclusive for the Xbone so I can be ready for it’s release on the PS4?
5. WWE 2K16 interests me but I’m not sure I can stomach the absence of the Hulk Hogan character.
6. I got a Need for Speed! We need more open world racing games! Anyway, I can’t wait to get this new NFS game on my PS4.
7. *finishes watching a trailer for Until Dawn* Looks awesome. And I recognize a few of the actors being used for the characters’ designs. I might have to give that game a look.
Say what you will about UK being the biggest European market, but after observing their charts for over a year, there’s no denying that their taste in video games keeps on going from bad to absolutely horrible.
because you don’t like those games does not means the UK has bad taste. Also I would invite you to look at the US chart which is not much different. But what will be interesting is to know the chart of your country :-)
1: True.
2: I love GTA V! But just a heads up, those heist missions later on in the game are a bit annoying.
3: Haven’t gotten around to recent AC games but Rogue looks interesting. I’m not so interested in Unity though because I don’t care much for the MC. Syndicate looks a lot better.
4: Supposed to be sometime in fall. Did you play the reboot?
5: I don’t know why. From what I’ve heard they also pulled his DLC from 2K 15. Interesting…
6: The new NFS looks ok. Many reviews say it hasn’t done anything that hasn’t already been done. This really disappoints me. And it’s online only. I usually pick NFS as my racer of choice, but I’m thinking of going to a different one. Maybe Grid or Project Cars. I definitely want Forza but that’s Xbox One and not PS4.
7: Yeah, I think so too. I’m not sure what all the hate I see on YouTube is about.
4. Nope. Haven’t played the first game of the reboot yet.
5. A video from a couple of years back had Hulk Hogan using the N word a lot & it was recently leaked this year. Since then, WWE has been trying to distance itself from him as much as possible. It’s bullshit, though, since the character of Hulk Hogan is one of the things that made WWE into the empire it is now. I can understand distancing themselves from the man himself but the character is pushing it. They are effectively Chris Benoit-ing Hulk Hogan.
6. It’s a racing game so I don’t really look at innovative changes to game play to decide whether I buy it or not. I more look at what kind of songs or music is on the game or what kind of new vehicles I can choose to use. Wait… Online only!? Are you sure!? *looks it up* Oh fuck that shit! Well nevermind about NFS! :/ Looks like I’ll be sticking with NFS: Most Wanted U then.
