We all knew how popular Minecraft would be when it finally made its debut on the Wii U eShop, but we didn’t know quite how quickly it would take off. Well, in Japan at least, Minecraft is the best-selling Wii U eShop title so far. Yes, it has even managed to overtake the brilliant Splatoon and Super Mario Maker. I remember when Minecraft Wii U was announced and everyone was saying no one cares anymore, and it wouldn’t sell a lot.
Well, Japan certainly cared. :p
I went into the Miiverse community just out of curiosity, and there’s sooo many Japanese posts. They must really love it lol.
When I studied in Japan last year, there where SO many people I met there who are obsessed with Minecraft. The PS4 Edition has a ton of Japanese posts and streams, and that ones been out for a while :P
That’s cool, I never knew it was such a hit over there. The Minecraft obsession probably won’t end for quite some time.

Hell….it’s selling like crazy in North America and Europe too seeing as how it’s been dominating the eShop charts in both regions. If Mojang would’ve released Minecraft on Nintendo platforms a long time ago I really think it would’ve far exceeded the sales of other rival platforms aside from the PC
Indeed. Well, I’m glad the Wii U owners who wanted it were able to get it. Kudos to Mojang. Might’ve taken a while, but it’s better late than never!
Clearly people do care. I kinda don’t. Never did. Don’t see myself getting hooked. But even if there’s a slight chance I would it’s probably better to stay away if I want to have a life. Games that never end aren’t a good thing for some people.

I understand why they hate Mario Maker. Splatoon And minecraft are better no slopes on maker. so the game is poop
OK. So because it doesn’t have one feature that you really want, that means it’s garbage? That’s a completely backwards way of judging how good a game is. That’s like me saying, that Smash Bros for Wii U is a garbage game, because it has Smash Tour, rather than the far better Smash Run. Me saying that, would be unfair, because there’s more to Smash Wii U than just Smash Tour. Similarly, there’s more to Mario Maker, than just no slopes, which is something they can add in a future update anyway, just like Checkpoints.

Cool, it’s nice to see a game late to the party doing great! I never doubted it. I bought the game at launch (WiiU). This should be an obvious sign to Majong to implement the gamepad appropriately. :)
Because why pay $3 less for the PC version which has more content? Or for $15 less on any other fucking console?

It’s still like a “My first Minecraft” to me when it comes to the console Minecrafts. The PC/Mac/Phone versions are cheaper and far more expansive community-wise.

Still insanely stupid no touch pad capabilities were added and the developer acted like it was an unheard of idea, but still good to see that sales are going strong. :)

They didn’t capitalize the full life of the console, not even half of the life. Regrets regrets….
I love how the top selling game on the Japanese Nintendo eShop is a Microsoft owned property.
