Earlier today, we posted a video by NintenDann giving viewers a good look at the Wii U version of Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge. Well, it seems as though the YouTuber had more to share. Below, you can find extensive footage of the game on the Nintendo 3DS–which looks the same for the most part. Both versions are currently available for download in Japan, provided you have the special voucher that comes with every new purchase of Mario or Donkey Kong series amiibo. We have yet to hear when the game will make its way to the West.

If this comes stateside (can’t remember if they announced it’d be coming here), I guess I’ll get to play through the whole thing since I have all the compatible amiibos.

For the record, I’m only finishing the SSB collection of amiibo.
I don’t care about the others haha.
Unless they make a whole Mega Man line of amiibo… :O (which won’t happen)
So from what I have seen of the video;
There are a line of free stages (guessing the game download itself is also free?) that you can play as any character with, in those free stages is a 2nd exit that if you have the corresponding amiibo, use it to get to that exit it unlocks an area for that character.
That character will have a special ability (Donkey Kong being able to go up steeper hills) and then those stages puzzles will be based on that ability? Also going through these Amiibo stages lets you collect a Gold amiibo symbol which adds +5 to your amiibo token total rather than 1 from the regular stages which then can be used for something (which I couldn’t work out what from the video with it being Japanese)?
I like the look of this game, hope it comes to the UK (and the rest of the world) and also hope it can be downloaded separately rather needing a code from a previous title (which Im guessing is promotional codes/ early access to reward those people for buying it?).
Please correct me where I am wrong and elaborate where you can on any details I may have missed as I’m sure I’ve made some mistakes here.
