Two producers over in Hollywood have told Polygon that they believe that Nintendo should start making movies with their iconic characters such as Mario, Zelda and Samus etc. The producers are well aware that everyone is familiar with at least one Nintendo character and that they have a multi-generational appeal. With Nintendo looking to expand its empire, Hollywood could be a lucrative place to start.
Adrian Askarieh, CEO of Prime Universe Films
“The Nintendo brand transcends the platform. You can say Nintendo and for a lot of people it still represents video games. Everyone knows Nintendo, kids, adults; it’s multi-generational. They have these wonderful properties that most of us have grown attached to. For them to not take advantage of that would be a bad idea. That was a huge risk for Marvel, but they did it and look at them now. The more iconic the characters are, they better the movies they will make.”
Roy Lee, co-founder of Vertigo Entertainment
“Nintendo is one I would love to do. It’s one of these properties that growing up I played every incarnation of their games from early Game Boy to GameCube to now the Wii U. You saw the progression of those characters from simple pixel versions, to now the amazing visuals they have for Mario. I feel like the world of Nintendo could translate well to the screen. I don’t know what the movie is, but I feel like there is something there that could be done.”
Thanks, MasterPikachu6

Only if done right.
Off topic, does anyone in the U.S. want to buy Twilight Princess HD without the amiibo off of me? I bought two, so that I could have one unboxed as I don’t like opening the handful of amiibo that I have. So I will sell one of my copies of TP HD minus the price of the amiibo.

Would love to see Metroid, Zelda, Kid Icarus, and F-Zero.
Nintendo could totally have another shot at a Mario movie but this time CGI animated instead of live action. LoZ, Metroid, Star Fox, and F-Zero could also work if done right.
Is Samuel Hadida still working on a Fatal Frame film for Sony Pictures?
I would love to see Nintendo movies!
As long as the movie isn’t shitty or has a shitty director, I’m on board.
I want a Wacky Races style Mario Kart movie, Wario and Waluigi could fill in for Dick Distardley and Mutley.

As long as they watch the movies Doom, Super Mario Bros: The Movie, and Bloodrayne and do the total opposite of what those did, movies based on Nintendo games could do great. I guess I could include the House of the Dead movie, too, in the list of what NOT to do. Just keep Michael Bay & Uwe Boll away, as well, and we’re fine.
The money is there, because of the History of Nintendo’s Franchises.
How about no. Maybe a Zelda movie like that IGN april fools joke…
it would be kinda cool if Nintendo started making movies but i don’t think that anyone will go and see ant of them.
As long as Adam Sandler doesn’t star in any of them. And they stay true to the games they’re based on.
