GameStop: New Consoles Are Coming In ‘The Near Future’

A recent GameStop investors report which has been discovered on their website states that new consoles are coming in the ‘near future.’ We already know that Nintendo is busy preparing its NX platform for deployment and that Sony is working on the PlayStation 4K, which has been heavily rumoured by a number of sources. Microsoft is expected to be releasing a revised version of the Xbox One which will probably be significantly slimmer than the original. All three companies are expected to reveal their new products in June.

“New innovation, such as Virtual Reality and new consoles, is expected to accelerate category growth in the near future.”

    1. Efforts are being made to destroy this New Order once and for all. The counter measures are being developed and deployment is at its final stages..

Soon i may have the pleasure to bring the physical head of Quadraxis to my master as he has commissioned..

Deliverance of the flock , as foretold is only a matter of time…

  1. Unless previous games benefit from stronger hardware in upgraded consoles, I’m just thinking it really wouldn’t be worth it. If I wanted to play the latest games in all their graphical glory or whatever, I’d use the PC.

      1. Except Nintendo which has tons and tons of exclusive games. So if they can get their hardware perfected, and gain third party support to reinforce their incredible first party lineup, they could easily dominate.

        1. Nintendo can easily dominate the handheld market. The console market, no. Unless they have some big magic trick up their sleeve and pull another Wii, (sales wise) the most they can get into is second place. That’s just how I see it. I’m not even sure if Nintendo will ever “dominate” with consoles again. With the next console, Nintendo could be in last place. But if it sells well enough for them to make a profit, is backed up by good third party support, and has up to date features (ex; cloud saving, games linked to account) then it’s all good.

          1. If Nintendo has a powerful console, and a 3rd party lineup on par or very close to Sony and Microsoft’s consoles, and their incredible 1st party exclusive lineup, there will be little reason to buy another console. I can still see people being ignorant and stupid, and not buying it just because its Nintendo and they’re “too cool for that” but that’s just stupid and unfair.

            1. Nintendo still doesn’t really do “mature” rated games as far as I know, so they won’t get the attention of people that enjoy stuff like that. Splatoon for example is a good game. But it’s not something a FPS fan is looking for. Nintendo’s lack of “mature” games is definitely one reason why some people just aren’t interested in them. And the reason for quotation marks is because I’m not simply talking about M rated games. Heck, Destiny isn’t even M rated, but look at it’s popularity. I’m not suggesting Nintendo stops making games like Zelda or Mario in favor of that stuff though. I’m just suggesting to give people more options.

              1. Yea but a lot of mature games are multiplatform, so if they secure 3rd parties it wont matter. Plus they could have another exclusive bayonnetta, and metroid which are pretty mature games. Also rumor has it that the next destiny game will be coming to the NX.

              2. This post made me laugh. Is the same thing people said in Sega x Nintendo, “Sega games have bloo00d0d, Nintendo are for kidz lol” give me a break please.

                  1. I read. Devil’s Third, Bayonetta 2, Zombi U, Ninja Gaiden 3, Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water and so on. I guess you think Nintendo is saying “No M rated games for my console MWAHAHAHA”, but you forget the thirdies are neglecting the Wii U.

                    1. And not a single one of those games was fully (or even mainly) developed by Nintendo. Not to mention, those games are either niche titles or not that good in the first place. But if the Wii U has such a vast catalog of “mature games”, by all means, keep posting them. Try not to list any dead-on-arrival ports, while you’re at it.

                  1. Because the main thing Nintendo consoles (or any console really) have to differentiate themselves are exclusives. And if you haven’t noticed, a lot of Nintendo’s games are family friendly oriented. It’s really not that hard to understand.

I always find it funny how people act so surprised to hear someone isn’t interested in Nintendo’s games. Like Nintendo’s games are nothing but perfection and you’ve committed a crime for not liking them. It’s called an opinion.

                    1. Yeah but that goes hand in hand because when people say don’t like Sony 1st party games they automatically assume that you don’t like them because you hate Sony and you’re jealous of their success…smh. Well…..it’s called a preference….something that non-Nintendo fans criticize the ones who love Nintendo for having. The Sony fanbase has been guilty of this shit too not just Nintendo fans so quit acting like it’s just us who act likes naive

                      1. I said it’s called having an opinion. You’re allowed to like whatever you want. Why are you talking about the Sony fanbase? I said “people act surprised”. Last time I checked, everyone isn’t part of the Sony fanbase.

                      2. Go away sony pony. People do not give a single shit to Playstation, they only play “Playstation” because of the third party support, so, just think, if Nintendo recover all the third party support too, who will win? I guess you will find out soon.

              1. Because it doesn’t mean what you say it means. All but + an adjective is an idiom with similar meaning to “almost”.

“Delete all but the most recent files” = Delete everything except for the newest files.
“The NX is all but confirmed for a 2016 release” = The NX is almost confirmed for a 2016 release.

                1. Thanks for explaining but it still seem like it mean nothing known because confirmation is like saying something is true and when you put all but is saying there is doubt.

          2. I think Nintendo is taking a risk by waiting so long to announce the NX release date. That is, if it really does release this year. You’d think that the release date (and official name etc.) would have already been announced by now, if it is in fact coming this year.
