Monolith Soft Is Helping Out Nintendo With Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed in an interview with Game Informer that Monolith Soft are involved with the development of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Miyamoto said that “yes they are involved in this Zelda. People from Tokyo and Kyoto are working together on this. There is a team of over 100 [from Monolith] helping work on this project, and their work has really been helpful”. It’s not the first time Monolith Soft worked on a Zelda game. Their previous work with Nintendo includes Skyward Sword.

  1. You’re welcome, ssf1991! Two legends working together on an epic adventure for Link to explore on both Wii U and NX. 2017, here I come…

    1. I wish. According to some others, Ganon is in this game so it can’t be a sequel to Skyward Sword since Ganondorf, who becomes/is Ganon, hasn’t been born yet. :/ Unless this game has some kind of time mechanic in it we’re unaware of.

      1. You know what it could be?

A chapter down the “Hero is Defeated” branch of the timeline. This could just be the trailer or the demo, but did you notice how barren and devoid of civilization BotW is? That could be a result of Ganondorf/Ganon seizing Hyrule.

  2. Yes! I was right about Monolith Soft also working on the new Zelda! Since XCX was finished, they had some free time to help with the development of another game!

    1. there was. it’s old news. But I imagine since it was just revealed in a big way that any tidbit of information is being thrown out there for the masses. Not everyone checks multiple Nintendo websites and keeps up on the news like some us :)

  3. They should help with Pikmin 4 too. Imagine a territory the size of LA, New York and Chicago put together. Those Pikmin would take nights to carry a dead creature back to the onion.
