An interview with Hishashi Nogami, Splatoon’s producer, was featured in this week’s issue of Famitsu. Among other things, Nogami discussed why they decided to bring Splatfests to an end. While the events were only ever planned to last a year, he claims that the development team feels like now is the right time to end them. According to Nogami, the game is done for now. Splatoon Producer Discusses Why Splatfests Ended

“Done for now?” Did he just confirm a splatoon NX port, or a Splatoon 2?
No confirmation. Game is just done.
they confirm that already on August 7th they confirmed Splatoon 2
no spatfest were zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz , no they didn’t!!! They didn’t say there is a second one coming nice try!!
Thats honestly the first thing I thought when I read that. Proof they are already working on something else, since they cant dedicate any time to the first game anymore. They must be working on a uprezzed port to the NX, I think they will want to expand the userbase before they attempt a sequel. They will make a sequel regardless, but they will first attempt to grab a bigger piece of the market with a NX denifinitive version, and if they succeed, my guess is the sequel would get a bigger budget.
One year would have pushed it passed the NX, they probably needed time to focus on their nx project…
One year from the released date. May 2015 to May 2016.
BOOOOO
YOU STINK!
NO YOU
I’m very much hoping for a sequel. Might be one of my favorite games of all time. Splatoon really blew me away
Definitely my favorite game ever made so far in the third person/first person genre of games thus far!
That’s a… rather weak explanation. But as long as he’s being honest and not hoity-toity about it.
Yeah. It could have been worse. We could have gotten some retarded Reggie explanation instead.
