Azure Striker Gunvolt Anime Delayed Until 2017

The anime based on Inti Create’s Azure Striker Gunvolt has been delayed until 2017. While originally announced to be releasing on the 3DS eShop in Winter 2016, the developers have now said that they are now aiming for a January 2017 release. While they refused to give a more specific release date, they are hopeful they will make this new date. Read their full statement below.

Good day, Strikers! As things start wrapping up around here while we prepare to say goodbye to 2016, I wanted to take a minute to update you guys on where we stand on the Gunvolt anime OVA. We originally said in the trailer (which you can see below) that it would be released in Winter of 2016, however, due to various circumstances, releasing before the year ends is unfortunately not going to be able to happen.

Now, with that being said, the “Winter” part of that original release time-frame still holds true, we just unfortunately were unable to meet the “2016” part. We are going to release it as soon as we possibly can worldwide on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Considering the vast majority of things we need to do to release it are now done, it really won’t be much longer now.

Right now, we are aiming towards releasing the Gunvolt anime in North America, Europe, and Japan next month (January 2017), so we will keep doing what we can to make that happen. As soon as we have a release date(s) nailed down, we will share that information with you guys. Thanks for your understanding, and we hope you enjoy the anime when it comes out! :)
