The recent Nintendo Treehouse stream that was broadcast yesterday revealed that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild only takes 12 seconds to boot from the Nintendo Switch menu. The stream also revealed that the huge game takes 24 seconds to load upon selecting your save file, which is pretty quick.
Zelda: Breath Of Wild On Nintendo Switch Takes 12 Seconds To Boot From Switch Menu

Ok
||Quick compared to what?…||
SSB4 on 3ds
||I need a better comparison…||
breath of the wild on wii u
Just about every game on the Wii U
Try playing GTA V on any console….
and its not the final product btw..
It’s out in under 2 months… Fair to say it’s the final product
Day 1 patch ;P
Wii U boot up times were even reduced significantly with a patch after release.
The final product is the product put on sale.. Making technical improvements afterwards doesn’t make it any less final… It’s like saying it will never be the final product untill they get rid of the loading altogether… They reduce the load time to 3 seconds, it’s not the final product till its down two 1 second…
lmao do you hear yourself
.. wait nevermind I read everything after “it’s like saying” as what you were actually saying lmao I’m a fucking idiot
Don’t get me wrong I do think they can reduce load times through a patch but it’s the final product rather they do or not
What I meant is that, if they can reduce load times after release, they can also do it right before, who knows.
Not that I have a problem with 12 seconds, for an initial bootup I don’t mind. More important to me are loadtimes while playing.
That is honestly amazing. Has there been any word on the virtual console aspect??? Cause i really want to get one of these consoles but i want a good selection on the virtual console aspect. Like do you guys think it will have n64 games???
This is very impressive when compared to an open world game like ffxv
||How long does that one take?…||
I try to keep count but I doze off
Ok that’s cool and all but virtual console? Gamecube virtual console?
Yes this is what i need to know as well there has been NO NEWS on the virtual console. …
Hopefully they’re saving the info for a big reveal later and not just because, y’know, they’re going to manage it so badly that they’re purposefully not bringing it up.
There is virtual console because they give you NS/SNES games for a subscription to online services
Reminder that booting time may be different in the final work.
Takes Final Fantasy XV about 30 Seconds on my PS4 Pro to Boot Up so this is very welcome!
||This is the kind of answer I was expecting from someone, good…||
i mean they product they showcased in swith demos (They are actually aiming for 1080 60fps at launch so they are still working on the title)
Ha, who actually cares. I would wait 5 mins just as long as i can play xD
Maybe 5 minutes is a little extreme, but I agree. It’s nice to see relatively short load times on a open world game.
I find interesting that with every new console people are wondering about backwards compatibility VC content. I read stuff like, “what about game cube games”, and “what kind of n64 games will be available”. It reminds me of how for a while every PC gamer wondered “but can it run crysis”…only in an ass backwards kind of way. you know, for the price of a new console you could by a shit ton of old games and their original hardware and wouldn’t have to worry about it. it just makes me feel if Nintendo didn’t spend so much time on re-re-re-re-re- releasing old games, that i feel most nintendo fans already own, then they could put that much more focus in creating brand new IP’s, true follow ups, and sequels. I’m sure there’s a whole division of Nintendo that is responsible for just ports and virtual console stuff so as not to get in the way of the other departments making real games, but still, seems like a pointless demand to me.
Wow! That sounds impressive to me!
