GameStop may have been targeted by hackers attempting to steal credit card details from customers from its website. The attack happened by intruders between mid-September 2016 and the first week of February 2017. Krebs on Security reports that compromised data is thought to include customer card number, expiration date, name, address and card verification value (the three digits on the back of your card).
“GameStop recently received notification from a third party that it believed payment card data from cards used on the GameStop.com website was being offered for sale on a website,” a company spokesman wrote in response to questions from this author.
“That day a leading security firm was engaged to investigate these claims. Gamestop has and will continue to work non-stop to address this report and take appropriate measures to eradicate any issue that may be identified,” the company’s statement continued.
Thank God I use cash.

Well, for Amazon, a card is required, but their servers are in good shape.
Is it just online purchases on their site or is it also in-store purchases? I never buy through their site, always in store.
Man, this world is getting worse all the time. So many hackers, scammers and plain down frauds, it’s unbelievable. Especially phone scammers. I’m sick of getting mysterious calls from unknown numbers, telling me I won a contest/sweepstakes etc. that I never even entered. These weirdos will NEVER scam me!
I haven’t ordered from Gamestop.com in a LONG time. But I’m always buying things in their store with my debit card. Since I rarely use cash anymore.

Good thing I didn’t save my debit card on GameStop’s website when I got the Alm & Celica 2-Pack amiibo Set. Even if GameStop discovers my card was a victim, it won’t matter since it’s only got about 7 bucks on there so sucks for any loser that buys it for more than 8 bucks. lol Besides, it’s gonna expire in September of this year but if I am a victim, my bank will simply just change my card before it expires & I’ll get a new expiration date card before next month. So have at it, losers!

Someone hacked my GameStop account and stole all the rewards points in it. Emailed GameStop, got an automated response, then another one a week later saying they were sorry for the wait… then nothing. Points are gone forever, I’m sure. But I haven’t shopped there since the launch of the Wii U, so whatever.
