Japan: Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 For Nintendo Switch Launches This Fall

Good news for Nintendo Switch owners in Japan as the long-awaited Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will launch on Nintendo’s latest platform this fall. The news was revealed in the latest edition of Japanese publication V-Jump. Thankfully, Gematsu has also provided an overview of the Nintendo Switch version which has yet to receive a western release date. Here’s the details contained within:

New Systems

  • Ad-Hoc Co-Op Play – A first for the Dragon Ball Xenoverse series, using ad-hoc correspondence, you can play with up to six nearby players.
  • Ultimate Techniques with the Motion Sensor – For example, by using the Joy-Cons with both hands, you can trigger a “Kamehameha.”
  • Two-Player Joy-Con Battles – Battle against a friend on the same Switch using the two Joy-Con controllers.

  • Limited Time Bonus – Experience the “Time Patrol” main story from the first Dragon Ball Xenoverse.
  • For Early Buyers – A code to unlock the characters from the main story early. By using this code, you will have access to more than 70 characters from the start.

  1. I can’t wait to buy this. Never beat the first one but it was pretty entertaining. I hope this version runs good. That’s mostly all I care about. If it’s like dragon quest warriors where the switch version is choppy compared to other versions I would have to skip it =/ but heres hoping it’s all well and a western release this year too

  2. If I knew anyone with a Switch near me I’d buy one just for XV lanplay. Multiplayer on the Home console and PC versions are ruined by lag and there’s only so much fun I was able to have with a single player MMO.

  3. King Kalas X3 {Greatness Awaits. This use to be something that awaited those for all consoles. It's sad it's mostly just a PS4 slogan these days. Maybe Nintendo will get back to that greatness with the Switch. Only time will tell.}

    Get ready! You’ll be seeing people uploading funny videos of someone catching their friend in the act of using real hand movements to do a Ka Me Ha soon enough! xD
