This week’s most wanted games in Japan are now in courtesy of the team over at Weekly Famitsu. The popular Japanese gaming publication quizzes its readers on a weekly basis to find out which Nintendo games they are looking forward to the most and this week is no exception. It is once again Dragon Quest XI which graces the top of the chart and looks unlikely to be shifted for quite some time. Here’s the most wanted games for the period of June 29th – July 5th:
- Dragon Quest XI: Sugisarishi Toki o Motomete (3DS) – 888
- Splatoon 2 (Switch) – 445
- Super Mario Odyssey (Switch) – 357
- The Snack World: Trejarers (3DS) – 295
- Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katriel to Daifugou no Inbou (3DS) – 230
- Xenoblade 2 (Switch) – 198
- Sekaiju to Fushigi no Dungeon 2 (3DS) – 186
- Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2: Naruhodou Ryuunosuke no Kakugo (3DS) – 173
- Pokémon Ultra Sun Moon (3DS) – 169
- Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey (3DS) – 166
- Fire Emblem Musou (Switch) – 131
- Fire Emblem Musou (n3DS) – 128
- Dragon Quest XI: Sugisarishi Toki o Motomete (Switch) – 114
- Monster Hunter XX Nintendo Switch Ver. (Switch) – 90
- Metroid Samus Returns (3DS) – 86
- Tantei Jinguji Saburo: Ghost of the Dusk (3DS) – below 77
- Fire Emblem Complete New Work (Switch) – below 77

For me, it’s Super Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade 2, & Metroid: Samus Returns.
As for Pokémon Ultra Sun/Moon & Fire Emblem Musou (Warriors outside of Japan) for Switch, I’m still on the fence with those.
I am glad to see Metroid: Samus Returns on the list. It’s good to know there are japanese gamers interested in this game.
