Bad news for gamers and the British high street as Grainger Games has announced today that it is closing twenty-one shops with immediate notice. The company emailed a third of its shops today and informed them not to open because they are being closed. The company’s website has also closed for business with a 404 error.
“We regret to inform you that we require you to close your store imminently due to the ongoing issues surrounding the business’s critical financial situation.”
“Your store will unfortunately be closed as of today. Please DO NOT open your store this morning.”
Eurogamer: The shops instructed to close are Worksop, Northwhich, Sale, Beeston, Salford, Altrincham, Widness, Stretford, Whitley Bay, Wakefield, Castloeford, Selby, Dewsbury, Hyde, Oldham, Thornaby, Huddersfield, Durham, Washington, Billingham and Chesterfield. That’s 21 shops of Grainger Games’ 67 total.

Ouch. It sucks to close your store because of financial issues with the parent company but it’s worse when you get the notice of it from out of nowhere.
Never heard of them, when I was there I only thought of GAME for my amiibo search.
