Horror title Outlast 2 is now available for purchase on the Nintendo Switch eShop and you might be wondering how it holds up against other versions of the game. YouTube Channel Direct-Feed Games have produced a comparison video between the recently released Nintendo Switch version against the Xbox One version. See which one fares the best in the video down below.
Thanks to Nintendo First Order Reaver for the news tip!

From what I can tell, the Switch version sometimes completely lacks fog in the foreground, sometimes has lower resolution textures, and I think I might be seeing the light for the flash light not seeing as far out though that could just be that the Switch might crush the blacks slightly more. Also looks like it might be half frame rate since I can notice more motion blur.
This is all down to the fact that the Switch has 1/2 the RAM of the Xbox One…. It still holds well though.
I’m not really seeing anything that suggests that’s the limitation. The lack of fog the lower frame rate, and the different grass suggests its shader performance, fill rate, and memory bandwidth related.
Looks damn good considering :)
