EA Explains Why Madden 19 Isn’t Coming To Nintendo Switch

Football fans are satisfied as FIFA 19 is coming to the Nintendo Switch, but those American Football fans amongst you will have been disappointed to hear that Madden 19 won’t be coming to the Nintendo Switch. GameSpot caught up with Madden 19 producer Ben Haumiller to find out whether the game could make its way to Nintendo’s latest system. Here’s what he had to say to the publication:

“We always think about every platform out there. It’s really a decision of what’s best for Madden and us as EA and where we’re going. You never rule out getting your game in front of players. You want to go where everyone is. We’d never rule it out. We just don’t have any current plans right now.”

  1. So, they basically just explained that it’s not coming – not why. I think it would be beneficial for the system, but I can see why EA might hold out for another year. Once NA is at 15-20M, Madden would be a super safe bet.

  2. Madden hasn’t changed in years. It looks a little better year after year but the gameplay feels like it did when I played it on GameCube. Still would have an audience on Switch though so not sure what EA is thinking here… oh but it’s EA so..

  3. EA is always thinking what is best, for their wallet, and end result is Battlefront.
I might be interested in NHL game, but other than that, their sport titles do not interest me.

  4. As much as I hate EA, and I don’t really trust them at all, and their support of the Switch has been near the bottom of the barrel (I think only Blizzard is worse for their reluctance to touch the Switch so far, but COULD change if Diablo is coming I suppose, but at least FIFA are new games) this statement SCREAMS “non disclosure act” and Nintendo is planning on announcing Madden on Switch themselves. Might be wishful thinking, but I have a feeling that this potentially 45 min direct will be filled to the brim with Nintendo’s biggest third party software showing in well over a decade.

  5. “You want to go where everyone is. We’d never rule it out” Switch is still selling like hotcakes and these m*fuckers can’t get their sh*t together.

  6. There was no explanation as to why it’s not coming in what he said. It was just a nonsense statement

  7. GETAGRIP101.....,,,

sorry to be a core amongst the casual’s but like fifa its another game that would be made 10x better due to the controler options and the touch screen and te rumble
another casual fart fest from EA THAT ONLY CASUAL PLEBS PLAY AND WOULD BE AMAZING ANSD FAR MORE CORE GAMER if built around gen 9 controls and concepts

more gen 4 shite from EA and switchs amazing advantages ignored

anyone wanting ps4 maden on switch is missing the god darn point of the switch GO PLAY CANDY CRUSH CASUAL

  8. GETAGRIP101.....,,,

team sport simulations shoulshave team controls TEAM CONTROL ARE ONLY DOABLE ON A SYSTEM WITH TE CONTROLERS TO DO SO

ANTHER SERIES THE SWITCH VERSION WOULD RAPE ALL OTHERS AND AGAIN AS NINTENDOFANS YOUR NOT DISCUSSING IT OR POINTING IT OUT

FULL RETARD MODE AGAIN HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Eh…. don’t care. Call me when EA SportsBIG makes a return and then I’ll get excited or salty about a switch version.

  10. if i have a whole team at my disposal on a screen and a controler to allow me to control that whole team WHY WOULD I NOT CONTROL THE WHOLE TEAM

THIS IS CALLED A HIGHER THAN YOURS IQ

CONTROL A TEAM THE NINTENDO GAMER WAY ENOUGH WITH THE CANDY CRUSH SPORTS GAMES AND OUTDATED MECHANICS

  11. SPORTS GAMES ON SWITCH = CHESS

SPRTS GAMES ON PS4 AND XBONE = CHECKERS

ITS THAT FREAKING SIMPLE = LOGIC

AND IF YOUR WONDERING ABOUT PORTABLE MODE AND TEAM PLAY THE TOUCH SCREEN HELPS WERE THE DUAL JOYCON MOTION AND MOUSE IS NOW MISSING YOU TRANSFER THE TEAM CONTROL TO THE TOUCH SCREEN

THIS ISNT ROCKETSCIENCE ITS A COMMONSENSE ANSWER TO SPORTS SIM GAMEPLAY IN THE YR OF ARE LORD 2018

WHATS WITH THE 1995 MECHANICS casual as fuuuk

  12. DUH! Third party games sell like crap on Nintendo systems, they have since Wii days, because Nintendo’s drawing in more of the casuals, and less of the hard core, meaning that audience isn’t buying those types of games. The Switch is right now getting the Nintendo hardcores (those who bought the Wii U and 3DS- their lowest selling home and handheld systems). Nintendo’s trying to get more casuals, but that comes at the cost of 3rd party companies selling less and less, despite the inflated install base.

  13. What do people do with Madden 16′ 17′ and 18′ after they get outdated?

If someone bought Madden 16′ in 2015 are they still playing that game 3 years later?
