It’s that time of the week again where its time to find out how video gaming hardware and physical gaming software did in Japan. Famitsu has decided to release the latest boxed video game and hardware charts. This time, it’s for for the week of April 15th to 21st. As usual, both of these sales charts are followed by lifetime sales.

This week, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe managed to make it to the #1 spot. However, that’s not the only thing Nintendo can be proud of. 1. It’s actually a 10 year old game, albeit with some pretty substantial add ons now.
Fact is, if this game keeps gracing the charts in this way, it’ll just delay the inevitable Mario kart 9 which I’m so eager to see.

  1. It’s a sad state of affairs that a decade old Wii U port is topping the chart, and it’s ahead of a month old, original, albeit mediocre Nintendo title in the form of Princess Peach: Showtime.

Nintendo might be ticking along nicely with hardware sales, in Japan at least. But software sales there most weeks are embarrassing. This is one of those weeks.

    1. Forget the positioning.
It’s the same titles in Top 10 – MK, Splat, AC and Smash.
What makes this any different to you ?

    2. You could watch Nintendo selling 300 billions Luigi amiibos and you would still say “YUP Nintendo will fall apart with this sales…”

    3. Jackson Bentley-Dyches

embarrassing?? How is locking the top 5 best-sellers embarrassing?? It’s not even that uncommon that ALL 10 are Nintendo Switch games.

    4. It’s a sad state of affairs to see you posting these same nonsense comments over and over again on these kinds of articles.
Don’t you have anything better to do with your time?

    5. It is sad of course, sad for microsoft and sony and you can bet that any company wish they’d have at least one evergreen game so the embarrasment is for people like you.

Good job with the mental gymnastics.

    6. I dislike Nintendo but i have to admit that having a game that keeps selling is impressive and having some games in the top ten while in the wii u era only few managed to nab a spot.

You are such an embarrasment of troll.
