Sony Says They Are “Looking At A Lot Of The Possibilities” For Fortnite Cross-Play Nintendo Switch And Xbox One

Those of you who have downloaded Fortnite will be aware that you can play against Nintendo Switch owners and Xbox One owners of the game, but you can not play with PlayStation 4 users. Sony PR previously gave a rather inadequate statement when asked why, now Eurogamer has managed to ask a question to Shawn Layden, president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment America and chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios during the Gamelab conference in Spain and he told the site the following:

“We’re hearing it. We’re looking at a lot of the possibilities. You can imagine that the circumstances around that affect a lot more than just one game. I’m confident we’ll get to a solution which will be understood and accepted by our gaming community, while at the same time supporting our business.”

  1. Yeah, the solution is allowing it to happen. Fortnite is just one of a handful of games that allow crossplay. Allowing isn’t going to drastically cut into profits as there’s still many games that don’t allow it.

  2. “We want you to have fun, but we also want your money. So we’re kinda stuck because it sometimes seems like we can’t have both.”

    1. That would be what Sony would do. They LOVE nickle and dimming their fanbase. Can’t blame them though really. It’s their very own fanbase that allows it.

  3. Instead of planning what there going to say. Why don’t they just say sorry and let it happen already

  4. “Looking at the possiblities”
There’s only 2: enable or disable crossplay. The fact it’s accidentally happened on two occasions shows how simple enabling it would be.
