The past few days have been a rollercoaster ride for fans of Telltale’s The Walking Dead. The good news is that an official statement from Telltale has provided some hope for those who want to see The Final Season completed. According to Telltale, “multiple potential partners have stepped forward to express interest in helping to see The Final Season through to completion”. No promises are being made, but Telltale says that they are “actively working towards a solution that will allow episodes 3 and 4 to be completed and released in some form”. Here’s their statement in full:

Would it even matter if most of the creative force has already been laid off?
It does matter for people who have been following the walking dead since the very beginning.
What I mean is, if the same people aren’t there to finish ot… The fans aren’t going to get a real ending.
I mean… Unless it’s already been storyboarded. Still though… Chances are it’ll be diluted and rushed.
The final season is definitely beyond conceptualizing a story. This is not a matter of building a brand new season from scratch. This is just a matter of giving Tell Tale the resources necessary to complete the game that they have mapped out.
I guess that makes sense since the ending(s) would have to be planned ahead of time based on choices from previous episodes
As much as I’m not interested in this game, it sucks to see an anticipated game get cancelled due to a company going under.
Look at what happened to Mega Man Legends 3.
Other than Ubisoft and SIE’s Naughty Dogs, I wonder who else has offered the guys that got laid off by Telltale jobs at their companies.
that’s good that it might get finished some day don’t think Nintendo or any game company would want an unfinished game on their platform
