Nintendo is currently suing a man in Orange Country, California for selling NES Classic Editions and Nintendo Switch consoles that have been modified with pirated content. However, the legal documents contain something that hasn’t become widely known yet. In the documents, Nintendo says that the Nintendo eShop is the “Nintendo Switch Online shop (formerly Nintendo eShop)”. If this is true, then Nintendo may be planning to rename the eShop in the future. In the meantime, if you want to see what Nintendo said about the eShop in the documents, a screenshot of it can be seen down below.
Rumor: Some Nintendo Lawsuit Legal Documents Suggest That The Nintendo eShop Will Be Renamed The “Nintendo Switch Online Shop”

Not gonna happen.
So then would the 3DS eShop also be called “Nintendo Switch Online Shop” or…?
… or grisly death for the 3ds shop.
I am still going to say the eshop, Nintendo Online Shop is too much a mouthful lmao.
There is nothing wrong with the name eShop. Leave it the fuck alone. Don’t have to rename everything that started on a less than favorable system. What next? Are Miis gonna be getting the rename treatment?
eShop started on the 3DS
Oh yeah. Totally forgot 3DS came out first before Wii U.
Might have trouble with their case if they’re using a name for their service that’s currently not in use
Ew. eShop has a much better ring to it

If only everyone who pirated games would also get sued. Especially the losers who pirated Smash Bros.
I wonder if rebranding to the Nintendo Switch Online Shop means the 3DS could be planned for discontinue
It’s about time that Nintendo sues people who sell their systems filled with pirated games. But to be honest, Nintendo should go after the auction sites (eBay etc.) who make a ton of money off of it, not the casual people who make a few bucks. Even worse is that some auction sites don’t even ban the sellers if you report them, they just remove the listing (if at all) and the seller then just relists it.
Can’t wait for Nintendo switch 2 online (Not to be confused with switch online 1 or switch online services)
