Suda51 Outlining No More Heroes 3, But Depends On Success Of Travis Strikes Again

No More Heroes 3 has been talked about for a while but it seems it is one step closer to reality as developer Suda51 has said that he has already started outlining it. However, it all depends on how successful the soon to be released Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes performs when it releases on the Nintendo Switch in January.

“Nothing is set in stone yet, and of course it’ll depend on the success of Travis Strikes Again, but I am working on an outline for No More Heroes 3 – a proper direct sequel for the series – and it’s going to be connected to Travis Strikes Again in a big way,” Suda said. “Because, in No More Heroes 3, Travis is going to go up against crazier adversaries than he ever has before it’s going to be bloodier, more intense battles between assassins it’s going to be kind of like The Avengers – Thanos levels of crazy villains.”

Suda continued, “In order for Travis to stand a chance [against these powerful new foes] I wanted to give Travis the chance to enter these different game worlds [in Travis Strikes Again] and power up to learn some new skills and gain some more strength so that ultimately I can work to make Travis a more prominent character in video game history overall. The skill chips that you saw Travis collecting in Travis Strikes Again’s game world, I want Travis to take those with him to the next game, the next numbered installment.”

      1. Even though people knows this is a spin-off, it doesn’t actually make much hype when you know the developers say they can do better. And for those who don’t know or care if it is a spin-off, it makes the case even worse.

I’m still going to buy this game, but if I were him, I would never say that I have something better stored up my sleeve right before launch of a game.

  2. I’ve never played no more heroes. I want to purchase Travis strikes again but again I have no idea wt the story is. They should do a release of the first 2 on the switch. Not really keen on hooking up my Wii or PS3 to play the first two.

    1. Yeah, I know the feel. Haven’t got to play them, and I just put away Wii U since Smash Ultimate came out. But of what I know, Travis is the wrong guy at the wrong place, and ends up killing a lot of assassins in the process, and becomes the number one assassin himself.

      1. Not quite. He bought a beam katana (quite literally a actual fully functional lightsaber) and he got broke. He then goes to a bar and tries to hook up with a blonde chick. But she was like nah only if you participate on this tournament of assassins (10 in total) and make it to number 1 then maybe Ill hook up with you.

The second game is basically he came back after being number one and the family members of the other assassins in the first game want revenge. And to try to hook up with the blonde chick he has to make it to number one again.

They are really good games if you like hack and slash. The humor is very much like deadpool.

  5. Really hate it when they say a game depends on the success of another, different kind of game.
Only thing that should matter, was that did 1 and 2 sell enough?
Or port the older games and see how they do.
But still I do not like this kind of hostage negotiation.

  6. Just remaster the first 2 games and use that to judge if its worth developing a new game… Dont use a indie spinnoff… Thats like making links crossbow training and using it to judge if they should make a new zelda game

  7. Looking at how other games have been performing well in the Switch and how NMH has performed in the past, it’s a bit wrong of this guy to blackmail us into buying Travis Strikes Again using NMH3.

NMH3 is in demand, Travis Strikes Again is not. NMH3 will sell, this game might not.

But if the sales don’t meet Suda51’s expectations and he chooses not to make NMH3, there’s Bayonetta 3, MP4 and other badass games to look forward to.

  8. No chance… the game will disappoint all… Fans, newcomers and there will no chance for No more Heroes.
I guess SUDA wanted like that… that never will get a 3 part.
