A Smash Ultimate video presentation is coming on July 30th & the game will be updated to version 4.0 “soon”

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fans are going to have a busy week coming up. A video presentation for the game, hosted by director Masahiro Sakurai, will be taking place on July 30th and 6am Pacific Time, or 9am Eastern. There, fans will be able to get “an in-depth look at upcoming DLC Fighter, Hero from the Dragon Quest series”, as well as “new details” and the exact release date that the DLC will arrive. As for the latter, we may already have solid idea when that will be. The official Nintendo Versus Twitter account confirmed that version 4.0.0 of the game will arrive “soon”, while an in-game notice of the update says that it will be coming “within the next week”. The official tweets are down below.

  1. I hope this presentation won’t be a disappointment. Andre from GameXplain, i hope, Shantae make it in the game because she needs to have her place in Smash Bros as DLC since she is getting a new game in all platforms. All of us want her in.

    1. How can you be disappointed when they’ve said what is going to be in it? There should be no expectation of a new character being revealed and especially one that is pretty minor like Shantae.

      1. Yeah this will probably be just about the Hero. Now EVO is next weekend and Smash is the main game. Perhaps something could be shown there but Nintendo doesn’t really have a history of revealing things at EVO. Here’s to hoping !

    2. As much as I would like to see Shantae playable in Smash bros (though I’m not counting on it), it’s too early for another character reveal.

      1. No, not everyone wants Shantae -_- there hasn’t even been a Shantae game to sell more than 150,00 copies. Mean while there’s hundreds of series with better characters, better story, better gameplay and for more sales that aren’t represented in Smash yet.

      1. I doubt we’ll see characters 4 and 5 until around the time Banjo releases, whenever that is (the sooner the better- in fact I wish he was coming before Hero, but I digress).

Rumor has it World of Light will see an expansion of some sort; this presentation will prove if that was true or not, I’m sure.
