Ys IX Monstrum Nox coming Summer 2021 for Nintendo Switch

NIS America has announced on Twitter that the long awaited western version of Ys IX: Monstrum Nox will be arriving on the Nintendo Switch system next summer. The company also released a brand new trailer for the acclaimed JRPG which you can check out below. Ys IX: Monstrum Nox was originally released in Japan on PlayStation 4 back in September 2019.

“Play as any of the six notorious Monstrum, each with their own unique Gifts that grant abilities such as scaling sheer walls or detecting hidden objects to protect the city from shadowy creatures. Explore the massive city, accept quests to aid the townsfolk, and enter the Grimwald Nox to vanquish the threats to Balduq.”

  1. Alright, it’s good to see that we have a release window for this game – It looks really fun with the dynamic and all.
Ys 8, while amazing, was kinda tedious since you had to farm for you resources, in this game from what I can tell you can just buy them, which is good.
Since this releases in Summer, I’ve got enough time to grab up Ys Origins and play through that as well.

    1. The resource farming is because you are on an island and money holds no value but you can “buy” materials by trading up or down. I will say that it does get a bit tedious grinding materials.

    1. If you go to google translator ínto the english section put in “Yhees” That’s how you pronounce the game

  2. I really don’t follow the series but i’m interested in giving it a try. Could i just start with 8 or i need to play the previous ones to enjoy the latest one?
