Kingdom Hearts team have something new for 20th anniversary in 2022

Revered developer Tetsuya Nomura has teased that the team have something new to show for the 20th anniversary of Kingdom Hearts. 2022 will be the 20th anniversary for the top-selling franchise and Nomura wants it to be something remembered by fans. The next Kingdom Hearts title Melody of Memory launches on 11th November. Here’s what Mr. Nomura told Famitsu:

“2022 will be the 20th anniversary [of Kingdom Hearts].”

“And so…,” he continued, “we are doing our best as we head towards the 20th anniversary. I’m already switching my attention to the next work, and the Kingdom Hearts team has started on something new.”

“As for what we’re able to announce, from here on out, I think everything is full of surprises, so please look forward to that.”

  1. What’s the point of including this news when another previous article specifically stated that there are no plans for Kingdom Hearts games on Switch?

  2. It’s a pretty safe bet that whatever it is won’t be on Switch or whichever is the current Nintendo platform at that time after those comments the other day.

    I already know what is… KH 3.000000001 for PS4, Xbox one X and maybe on Switch or Switch+.
