US: Super Nintendo World set to open early 2025 in Florida says Mayor

Florida’s local mayor Jerry Demings has stated that the Super Nintendo World attraction is set to open in early 2025. Mr. Demings said that this is the projected opening date which he was told by Universal. The Super Nintendo World attraction was set to open at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida in 2023. However, the construction was obviously delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“Work on Epic Universe paused in July 2020, as the company adjusted plans in the midst of the pandemic. The restart will begin immediately–but is expected to take several months before reaching full-speed as Universal re-staffs for the project and reassembles its vendor and contractor teams.”

  1. A Nintendo theme park was announced in 2015, so for those of us in the states, this is like year 7 in a 10-year wait, assuming we don’t get preempted by COVID, Super COVID, new COVID X, and WWIII.
