Just like Monster Hunter Rise, it had been confirmed very recently that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is also receiving an update from Nintendo later tonight. The update is not as large as Monster Hunter Rise’s, and there isn’t as much new content planned, but it is still an update to the game nevertheless.
Well, the update has released. Once you update Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the game should be at 1.10.0. As previously mentioned, the update doesn’t add much content. In fact, the update’s only focus is on bringing back May and June seasonal events to the game, but with a twist. The patch notes are down below.
Ver. 1.10.0a: Wedding Season
Adds new Seasonal Events:
- May Day (April 29th to May 7th): Collect a May Day ticket from Orville at the airport between the above dates and visit an island that’s totally unique. Seasoned travelers can look forward to a different destination to last year’s experience – take a trip and find out for yourself!
- International Museum Day (May 18th to May 31st): Visit your island’s museum between the above dates and take part in the special stamp rally that Blathers has organized to celebrate International Museum Day. You’ll also find stamps around the art gallery, so tour the whole museum and complete your stamp cards!
- Wedding Season (June 1st to June 30th): To celebrate the month of their wedding anniversary, Reese and Cyrus are visiting to Harv’s Island throughout June and they want you to help take some special wedding photos. Use your keen eye for style to decorate the scene and capture a memorable moment for them. You’ll also find wedding-themed furniture and fashion items in the Nook Shopping and Able Sisters stores. Take a look at what’s on offer and grab something that takes your fancy!
- New seasonal items available: Be sure to keep an eye on Nook Shopping, as there are a whole host of special time-limited items on the way in the coming months. Items that celebrate Japan’s Children’s Day (April 28th to May 5th), the UK’s annual Cheese Rolling event (May 22nd to May 31st), Mother’s Day (May 1st to May 31st), Father’s Day (June 1st to June 30th) and more will be available. Keep checking and pick up these special items before they’re gone!
- Bug Offs and Fishing Tourneys are back! In addition to the free update content, Flick will be returning to the plaza by Resident Services for the monthly Bug Off. Get busy with your net on June 26th, July 24th, August 28th and September 25th to earn points that can be traded with him for some special items. If you prefer your wildlife a little wetter, you can also look forward to the next Fishing Tourney. Watch for CJ appearing in the plaza on July 10th and go reel in some handsome rewards!
This is…. very lackluster. I was hoping for new holidays this year like Resetti coming back for groundhog day, the Pelicans making a visit for love letters on Valentine’s day, and expansions to the Nookington’s with a bunch of new furniture items and an expansion to the museum as well. I suppose covid can be blamed somewhat, but I hope things change soon.
Yeah this definitely sucks they also stated that these events were going to have a new twist in them, meanwhile the new twist seem to even sound lackluster this game is a overglorified designing game with the core mechanics that actually made animal crossing fun and replayable butcher, nerf or even gone.
It’s really dumb, the only thing New Horizons has over New Leaf is the amount of options you have with customizing your island and everything else falls flat. I usually give enhanced ports grief, but I think it would’ve been better if they took New Leaf and just added the terraforming and ease of customization to it.
Honestly, I don’t think I’ll start playing again until they add Brewster. I really fell out with this game back in January.
The only complaint I have is I wish they would add Brewsters. And expand Nooks Cranny like they did in New Leaf. I also wish Nintendo would re-release Happy Home Designer since I collected a lot of amiibo cards. I think porting it would be pretty easy.
I want bigger rooms in house, it’s not fun to decorate the house in new horizons. Also unbreakable tools, it’s lame that your breakable tools can make unbreakable furniture.
